Lets open up another challenge for tomorrow 28NOV Races 2, 3, and 4. Post time for Race 2 is 3:31p EST so this is the deadline for you to post your entries in this thread. The past performance is here:

Remember to allocate no more that $24 per race. You can wager whatever bets are offered in the program which includes any or all of these races. All are welcome to participate. I will post results in the evening and attempt to tabulate participants shortly after. Good Luck.

HOSRE WAGERING CALCULATOR

This will help you tabulate the cost of your exotic wagers more easily. Just pick your base bet size, bet type, and then check off all the horses you wish to cover in each position. You can use multiple selections in each leg.

It will calculate the total cost of your wager.

https://www.americasbestracing.net/gambling-calculator

I am looking for a calculator that will not only do this, but list how you should call out your bet. If I find a new and improved one, I will share it.

Some more info on exotic wagering is available here.

These are just examples.

Your bet doesnt have to be perfect just legible and understandable. Feel free to use long form.

If you put the total amount wagered in parenthesis after every wager that is a combo wager then I will know what you are doing.

I use part wheels a lot and they are a bit more intricate so I will break them down when I do.

Be patient with me and I will be with you. Some of us are learning. I am human and make mistakes too. When I do feel free to say so.

Theres nothing at risk, so its a great way to learn. Good luck and lets have fun!

I bet $24 in each race as follows...

Race 2 :
$5 WIN 5

$2 EXA BOX 5,7 ($4)
$2 EXA 5,7
This is a strategy I use when I want to put more weight on the order that I think is more likely. I box my selections and add a straight exacta as well.

50c TRI BOX 5,6,7 ($3)
50c Pick3 5/3,7/1,7,9,12 ($4)
$1 Daily Double (DD) 5/3,5,7 ($3)

50c TRI PART WHEEL (TPW) 5,7/5,7/1,4,6 ($3)
The Triple Part Wheel is constructed so that 5 or 7 can finish in either order 1st or 2nd, then either the 1,4, or 6 can finish 3rd. It covers 6 combinations and is one of my favorite ways to construct a triple.

Race 3:
$3 WIN 7
$1 EXA KEY 7/2,3,5 ($6)
50c TRI KEY 7/2,3,5 ($3)
A key is useful when you like one horse to win. If you can key a horse to win, it allows you to have add one additional selection underneath to achieve 6 possible combinations when compared to a 3 horse box.

$1 TRI Part Wheel (TPW) 3,7/3,7/2,5/2,5 ($4)
$1 DD 3,7/1,7,9,12 ($8)

Race 4:
$1 EXA KEY 12/1,7,9 ($6)
$1 TRI KEY 12/1,7,9 ($6)
$1 EXA KEY 1/7,9,12 ($6)
$1 TRI KEY 1/7,9,12 ($6)

RACE 2:

RACE 3:
2$ EXA BOX: 3,5,7 (12$)
1$ DD: 3,5,7/4,7,9,12 (12$)

RACE 4:
1$ EXA KEY: 12/9,4,7 (6$)
6$ WPS: 12 (18$)

Nice showing Aremas! You hit an exacta, triple, and pick 3 in race 2, and a Daily Double in Race 3 for a return of 56.45 if my math was correct. With $72 wagered you finished slightly negative on the day at $(15.55) which is respectable on a day like today.

We didnt really get great payouts until Race 4 where we had a near 12-1 horse win.

I will tabulate the others momentarily.

Race 2 -

$4 WPS 5 ($12)
$4 WPS 4 ($12)

Race 3 -

$4 WPS 7 ($12)
$4 WPS 9 ($12)

Race 4 -

$4 WPS 12 ($12)
$4 WPS 9 ($12)

A decent showing Ribby! You had a decent amount of hits but the payouts on these horses were low.

I had you getting a return of
20.20 in race 2 with the 5 hitting across the board and the 4 showing as well.
25.20 in race 3 with the 7 winning and the 9 placing 2nd but with all of the scratches the show pool ended up paying a refund.
12.00 in race 4 with the 12 placing 2nd and paying both place and show bets.

returns all totaling 57.40

With $72 wagered a modest net loss of just $(14.60) on the day.

I hope we get a better race card with bigger payouts for the next one....

Race2
8$ WPS (6)

Redsfan only joined us for Race 2 today and then had to dip out because he parked in a tow away zone. He didnt have the best of luck at the horses either but we were glad he could join us for a spell.

He will get em next time and take advantage of the valet parking....

All joking aside, on the next one remember you can wager $24 in each of the races listed in the challenge. Hope to see you then!

$1 EXA KEY 1/7,9,12 ($6)
$1 TRI KEY 1/7,9,12 ($6)

Looks like I get the sugar cube and the atta boy in todays contest. Payouts werent great but managed a couple wins, an exacta, a very tiny triple, a super tiny double and one slightly larger double, and a modest pick 3.

Total return was 100.40 less 72 wagered for a net profit of 28.40 on the day. So the ice cream is on me fellas!

I hope everyone had fun and I am open to any feedback. Looking forward to the next one to be announced.
