Hockey and Olympics.

I believe that world hockey is in crisis. all hockey players who wish (according to the sports principle, of course) cannot take part in the Olympic tournament, and for the second time in a row.
many hockey players from childhood dreamed and became professionals, it is precisely watching the Olympics and world championships, European players for sure. for me the culprit is the NHL !, with its selfish monetary approach. whoever says what, but if you wish, you can always hold an Olympic hockey tournament every 4 years.
there is proof - this is the FIFA World Cup, and in the football leagues, I think a lot of money is spinning, but this does not prevent from giving the fans a holiday.
What is your attitude to this issue?

Keep them at home it’s the Olympics! Maybe the tournament will be a little closer instead of being dominated by the the regular hockey powerhouses canada Russia Sweeden USA, it won’t but hey it’s wishful thinking. It’s all about money the sens lost a cup back in 04 because they played lost their goalie for the year! Owners being crying and trying to boycott the Olympics ever since, the owners aren’t wrong they own those players and gain nothing from them going..it’s the way the nhl operates protecting their own product

What the sense to organize Olympics if not to attract the best players?

The NHL has announced that hockey players will not go to the 2022 Olympic Games. To be honest, I thought that all the strongest players would go to Beijing. But apparently the situation with the virus diseases has affected. Now we see what happened to the Hockey World Junior Championship in Canada. It was canceled right during the competition.

this is very upsetting, we cannot see the best players of our national teams at the Olympics, so this tournament is losing its entertainment. But it helped Russia at the last Olympiad, I'm sure if we had them at the last tournament, we would not have been able to take gold, yes and germany, frankly speaking, would not have reached the final, my personal opinion.

Regardless of current covid problems, all western countries should be boycotting games in China. Human rights record and hostage diplomacy is not acceptable behavior and should be a higher cause than economics.

The Olympic Games without the NHL cannot be of a high level. It's too bad that a generation of talented NHL players were deprived of the opportunity to play in the main tournament of life.

You guys do all know that nobody over 23 is allowed to play Olympic soccer so FIFA and the professional leagues never have to worry about losing their best players.

No one cares about soccer in the olympics, shouldnt even be there. Olympics are supossed to be semi professional sports.
My point is that Fifa manage to control all competitions, even the olympics, and make the country as puppets.

While I enjoy watching Canada win golds in tournaments, I feel international hockey is a joke. 6 competitive teams and a bunch of others with no real chance of winning.

Hockey and decisions impacting everyone

Unfortunately, there have been decisions made that ultimately impact players and fans worldwide. Health and Safety are the major concerns impacting the decisions made that prevent some elite/pro players from participating. I was really disappointed when the World Junior Hockey Championship was cancelled/postponed over the holidays… Covid is ruining everything… or maybe the ‘anti-vaxers’ are ruining everything… hmmm- that’s another story for another time. Anyways… the Olympics is our ‘World Cup’ in terms of hockey greatness. I will miss watching elite Olympic hockey this year for sure… but what do we do??

You're right it won't be as interesting but I'll still watch. Owen Power, the first overall pick from last years draft will be playing for Canada so he will be fun to watch.
