Alright guys as football season seems to near yet so far away im gonna make my predictions for the playoffs. Im only doing NFC since I dont know alot about the afc but i would love to hear AFC fans and what they think.

NFC West
1- 49ers with the number 2 seed in playoffs.
They look real good and should easily wrap up their division by week 10. Alex Smith isnt the best QB but they have a ton of talent as far as WR goes. This D is pretty HAM (hard as a mofo) in my opinion as well.
2- Cardinals
wont make it in but new receiver micheal floyd should cause problems opposite of Larry Fitzegerald.
3-Sea Hawks
When your not sure who your starting QB is thats not a good thing. I like lynch the guy is a bad as* drop the shoulder power runner.
4 Rams
Dont even know where to start.

NFC SOUTH
1- The falcons secure the division with a 4th seed.
They are good and everyone knows it. Should be a harder division but with the bounty gate scandal I think they are a shoe in for sure to win the division crown. I put them ahead of the Saints on coaching no problems alone.
2- Bucs wont make it in but finish second in the NFC south.
I know alot of you dont like this but last year it was a young team and if you remember the GB game that know how to play and keep it tight.
3- Panthers Cam is great and can put up HUGE HUGE numbers. Steve smith isnt getting any younger and MJD might not play is the only reason they are number 3. Greg olsen is a good tight end reciever and as a Chicago fan i know what he can do and we all know Cam likes to throw to him. With no shockey Olsen should have more chances. in 1 or 2 years i look to the Panthers to take this division hands down.
4 -Saints (aints) now before you all kill me lol
Bounty Gate and a huge loss of talent throughout the roster. Drew Brees just signed today so that make things better but the entire Vilma thing is gonna hurt bad early on. Lets also remember that this is a team that does not play well out doors in the winter.

NFC EAST
Now is where it gets tricky this division is full of talent and where things will not be decided till the later part of the season.

1- Giants take the number 3 seed in the playoffs.
No I dont care that they won the superbowl last season does not matter. Eli has proven he can play when it counts. They lost Mario to FA but Cruz hit the scene as a big playmaker last year. Plus if you buy into the bull that a rb is not needed in todays NFL your crazy. The Giants have one of the best RB tandems in the NFL.
2- Eagles wildcard in.
Now you may swap my 2nd and third pick cause both of these are off paper alone. I tend to like the eagles cause they have more success winning and making it in the playoffs than the cowboys. Vick is a question who shows up this year... get scared and scramble or the rocket arm vick that made him such a hype. Plus McCoy knows how to get the job done running the ball. The only question i have is is the defense big enough now to stop the modern NFL
3- Cowboys
They look good but then again every damn year they always look good so WTF happens. Romo happens he is undrafted and we know why. He can look brilliant but when push comes to shove he chokes. If he finally fixes his mental collapse toward the end of the year then the Cowboys have all the tools in place to win this division.
4- Redskins
Well i like RG3 there is alot more issues to handle than the QB. I know they are rebuilding and... well to be honest no one expect much.

NFC North
I think this is the hardest Division to predict cause they could have 3 teams make it in. Easily the best Division in all of the NFL

1- GB packers number 1 seed in the playoffs
I hate to say it cause im a HUGE Chicago fan but GB has been red hot since the post season 2 years ago. They seemed to have fix some concerns with the secondary on D and moving Woodson over to safety my extend his career a few more years. They need a run game if all teams start to play them like The Chiefs did last year or the Giants in the post season GB is in for a struggle. I like GB alot the only thing that will undo this team is defense. *feels so bad to say i like them being a bears fan*
2- Bears wildcard Lots of offseason moves this year to help us. The NFL is going away from the 4-3 D but we still use it with some good stats. Cutty is a gunslinger and finally has a number 1 receiver to throw to to go up and fight for the ball in marshall. The D is old but still not bad Briggs and Urlacher still play some mean ball. We added some youth into the D but i dont think enough to slow down the Pack to take the crown. I do think that we may only be 1 game behind the Pack and could end up taking the number 1 seed if we beat them. Plus Forte is a mad man and i dont care what anyone says a running game wins later in the year.
3- Lions wont make it
I like megatron but not stafford. Sure he had good numbers but so could anyone throwing to Calvin Johnson. No secondary and a very weak unproven back field and Im not sold on the Lions. Plus who knows how they handle the stress of expectations this year. They are talented ill give them that but in 2 more years I think is when it will be a shame when they dont make it in.
4-vikings.
AP, Percy Harvin, and Jarod Allen thats all this team has going right now. rebuilding takes time and we will see better play this year than last.

Well folks thats in i just want to say that the NFC north is up for grabs and i would not be surprised to see both wildcards come from the NFC north.
Tell me what you think and again im welcome to all AFC fans thoughts. Thanks and i hope you enjoy look forward to hearing back maybe i can get some good football talk in.

P.S. my wife says if i put as much study and passion into poker as i do football i would be insane.... LMAO she could be onto something.

Good analysis. I like your picks to win the divisions. I would put the Lions over the Bears for one of the wild card spots. For the other spot I think it's a toss-up between the Eagles, Panthers, and Cowboys.

Thanks for the reply... The only reason I dont have the Lions higher than the bears is a lack of run game. I mean they do have Megatron but the bears got brandon marshall in the off season to keep up with the pass heavy NFC north teams. Then again the lions could easily take the crown and the packer miss the playoffs. This entire division is up for grabs. All 3 (sorry vikings not you) teams look very very good.

I kind of like your picks. Definitely think the 49er's are going to lead their division. I hope you are right about the Falcons. I don't think the Saints will be at the bottom though.

NFC East I am not so sure about - anything could happen there.

I'm just hoping the Cardinals can surprise the hell out of everybody this year - including the Niners. But alas, I agree that we are in for another season of .500 football here in the desert.

Well the reason i have the saints at the bottom is because of the coaching situation. Its no secret that Sean ran that offense knowing brees strengths. Makes me wonder if Brees is gonna be like the qb/ offensive coordinator.

The Cardinals could surprise some teams this year. I like the #1 draft pick the thing i dont like is the QB situation. The NFC is gonna be super hard this year. Yet again another lions arrest so i imagine they wont be able to focus well this year.

With cam's performance last year, and the off season time they had to perfect their offense, I say panthers come out and win their division with no one stopping Cam. They rush, he dumps to tight end, they fall back, he takes off and works his magic.

Your analysis isn't too bad... I just have a couple of comments.

I agree the 49ers should win their division, but I'm not so sure about locking things up by week 10. Despite having an excellent defense and a good offense, they could easily be 0-2 with games against Green Bay and Detroit to start things off. They also play the Giants in week 6 - two of those are home games, which should help. Then there's Chicago, New Orleans and New England in the 2nd half, the last two of those on the road - yikes.

I don't think New Orleans will sink to the bottom of that division. They have a monster offense that most teams will have trouble keeping up with. And they've had plenty of time to get accustomed to the idea of their coaching absences.

I'm not sure if you realized that MJD is on the Jacksonville Jaguars, not the Carolina Panthers. In any case, Carolina has too much depth at RB, including DeAngelo Williams, Jonathon Stewart, and now Mike Tolbert. Anyone expecting Cam Newton to match or exceed last years numbers should think again. I can't see him rushing for all those TD's with that group of backs. What they really needed was a reliable WR to take some of the heat off Steve Smith, and I don't see any improvement there except another year of age on his part.

I agree with your assessment of the NFC East, except that I'd put the Eagles ahead of the Giants. Then again, I live near Philly and hear all about them all the time (way too much, since I'm not really a fan). The Giants have a brutal end to their season, with Green Bay, Washington, New Orleans, Atlanta, Baltimore, and Philly all after their Week 11 bye. It could easily come down to the final game of the season between them.

I also think the Bears may not jell as well as you hope. In any case, the Lions offense is very, very good - Stafford is the real deal, and I expect them to put up big numbers. Pettigrew is gonna have a big season in complement of Megatron. Perhaps the Bears defense isn't on the decline and they can finish ahead of the Lions, but I don't expect them to approach the Packers at all. And Frankly, I think Stafford has a significant edge over Cutler, but getting back Marshall and having finally signed Forte should help.
