So for the first time in years ,The Cleveland Browns have a decent season and now have a team that's capable of being Playoff bound. Mr Duke Johnson on the other hand is crying Trade Me because he went from essentially a 3rd string back to the Very same position this season. If he were smart he would realize the Browns are on the up and he has 8 games to prove hes better than a 3rd down assistant. However he also had 5 seasons to prove that aswell. Also , he keeps screaming he wants to go to a team that wants him , well dummy....If another team was offering up for you , youd 100% be there because Dorsey doesnt screw around. The Browns want you but you're to money hungry to realize it. End rant

Anyways what are you views on this situation? Or what other NFL news have you found funny lately

Probably money related, but whose to say he didn't have dreams of being a star in the nfl, and not just make it to the nfl. If you felt you were one of the best workers at your job, you'd probably not be happy that your company hired people in front of you either. Hard to really ever know some ones true intentions.

If your 3rd string running back wanting to be some place else gets the quarterbacks panties twisted, your gonna have a long season.

That team is full of emo personalities as it is. Seems like a team that will do great things, only to implode when it counts. I just picture a lot of finger pointing and complaining when they aren't riding the high.

NFL careers are short and brutal, especially for running backs. So if Duke Johnson thinks he's being underpaid and wants to push for a change so he can put himself in position to make more money, I'm not going to fault him.

Whether he's going to achieve that goal by pushing for a trade I couldn't say - the prospects for pretty much any running back landing a big money contract in the near future are grim unless your name is Zeke Elliott.

Hes not complaining about not making enough money , hes making good money for a 3rd down back. He just wants to be #1 so when they picked up Hunt he basically just tossed in the towel. If the Browns decide to drop him he will essentially make even less money being a 3rd down back

I don't get it. You're saying he wants to be a #1 back but he doesn't want more money for it?!?

If he wants to change teams for a bigger role, you can bet it's because he wants more money.

Not at all. Hes in the top 15 of biggest paid RBs. Hes realized that with the pickup of hunt and the explosion of Chubb last season he is nothing more than a 3rd string back....he essentially feels "useless" money isnt a factor playing time is.

...and he wants a bigger role and more playing time because he can't get more money on his next contract unless he's out there on the field producing.

Whatever helps you sleep at night. I mean everyone is in the NFL for money so that argument is null and void. Hes constant bickering is for Lack of Utilization. Being on a team that "doesnt want him" . So no, lack of playing time and being pushed back for yet another back is the biggest issue , if he was in a tandem with Chubb then 100% he wouldn't be yipping like he is. Hes already a topped paid back, he just wants to be a topped used back , a back that everybody knows

LOL - you're the one who complained he was "to money hungry" (sic) in your opening post.

All I'm saying is 1: if he wants to chase more money elsewhere, nobody should blame him, but 2: I don't think it's likely he gets that much more money, given how the position is being treated by most teams at the moment.

He would lose money going anywhere else. No other teamis going to pay for a guy whos essentially been a change of pace back. Obviously nobody is trying to trade for his 5 mil a year and if the browns cut him...…….he would have to sign some 1 year 3 or less prove your worth contract

Another Subject at hand. I think the Eagles Overpaid for Wentz. Wentz is good when hes healthy yes , But just like Mariota hes been on the bench more than hes started pretty much

he is too expensive to net a pick good enough to make it worth the Browns time. I'd be happy to have him on my team though

exactly , and that's why I believe he hasn't been traded because the most they'd be able to get for him is a 5th maybe a 4th, but theyd still have to give up additional picks for someone to try and carry his contract. So if Johnson is smart he'd use the time that Hunts out to try and make a name for himself so that someone Like the Raiders/Colts/ Hell even the Vikings need a bit of backfield help. He just needs to get the "its all about me " out of his head because it's making his overall value diminish. Play the Game and maybe someone will give you a shot at #1

I agree. They clearly have a lot of trust in the guy to dump a back up who won them a ring, which makes no sense to me. Regardless I don't see Wentz being top 5 in the league, and honestly I could see him being a average qb in years to come.

Maybe they looked at how much Baltimore enjoyed paying megabucks to an average QB just because he won them a ring, and decided they'd rather not have that hassle :p

It's not that simple. There has to be a team with that certain need and it has to be cost efficient whether it be picks or cap. The Browns would rather hold onto him for future value or until he can be dropped off as a free agent. Dorsey isn't going to feed into a Players demands especially in a situation like this .

Well he got his trade. To the Texans for a pick. Now he gets to be a backup somewhere else because I doubt he starts over miller.

It's a good move to trade him now. The Browns had overpaid him with his new extension. He was making too much for a guy who'd never touch the field after Kareem Hunt comes back from suspension(if he doesn't beat anyone else). A 3rd or 4th rd pick will be useful in 2020 and beyond.

Duke Johnson is unlikely to supplant Miller, but who knows.
