Figured we should have a DK thread for this year. Anyone else playing?

Had $23ish left of the $100 I deposited last year, so started picking some lineups in the .25 $100k arcade. Only have slightly more of a clue than last year, but we'll see how it goes this time.

I'll be back again. I gave up season long leagues for daily since I can now skip weeks if I have something else going on. Used to hate trying to get my lineup in at the last minute.

i won 3 dollars during the preseason with freerolls.

Slightly above break even going into tomorrow, so it won't hold. 193ish pts was the highest any of my LUs scored. Totally missed out on the Brees / Cook stack that helped make someone a millionaire, but I had Dalton / Green in several LUs.

i am real excited for this sundays line up.
the only jabroni i have on my team is raiders TE cause he is cheap and my TE killed me last week anyways and i still cashed.

I play every week during football season. I mainly play 50/50's. Also prefer playing smaller amount of teams to pick from. It's keeps the TV games to root for.

I'm less excited this week, because I'm realizing picking lineups is time-consuming. I use the lineup builder at RotoGrinders, but you still have to make lots of adjustments to them. I'm putting $20 worth of quarters into one of the arcades. Seems pretty clear that the people who win usually do it with a lot of entries, some high variance, so I'm trying to do that at the micros.

Btw, for next year maybe we should consider pooling our monies for the $3 Wk1 5 milly? Or heck, I might just get crazy and throw $300 at it if I've done enough research. Can't compete at $20 per entry though.

My understanding of DFS is a little limited since it's not really a thing here in Australia (we're allowed to do actual sports betting here, so we don't need DFS as a proxy) but...

...my understanding is that unless you're one of the few software engineering and statistics geniuses who've built your own models and lineup selection algorithms, your chances of winning over the long run at DFS in America are pretty close to zero.

If that's the case, then maybe either not playing or getting lineups from someone who does have those kind of tools is the right choice?

well the true key to winning on DFS is just doing a million lineups.
most of those sites have a cap on how many entries one person can have, so they know that is a major part of winning.

I have consistently won on both major sites i use.
never even coming close to the main prize tho.

a handful of times i have gotten close with 2 good players to go that SHOULD have got me in the thousands, but they severely under performed.

i play low stakes though. i put a 3-5 lineups in the $3 1.25 mil gtd weekly game.
and i am up a bit.

maybe people don't want to put in the work it takes to make a great lineup.
which i will admit is very time comsuimng.

I like fan duel more than draftkings for football, .5 ppr on fan duel vs 1 ppr on draftkings makes picking receivers easier and the survivor tournaments give you a chance to win big on small bets(don't know if draftkings has these)
+$25 dollars so far

I play some, just dollar games, usually HU or 50/50,, just to where I'll have interest in games that without I could care less. Just cheap entertainment.

It was an exciting sweat up top in the milly today. Two people with different lineups tied for 1st with 247.20 points each and split the prize to take $600k each. I suspect the person holding onto first until the tie was somewhat pissed, but still a huge windfall before taxes.

brandin cooks screwed me real good.
he kept me out of the money in alot of lineups.
best this week was 177 points with tannehill.
