It appears that Colorado has gone to the PAC-10 and Nebraska is Big-10 bound. Anyone have thoughts or inside info on who's the next school to change conferences? I think maybe Notre Dame will finally have to choose a conference (Big-10) over independence and Texas (Big-10 or Pac-10) and Texas A&M ( Pac-10 or SEC)will shift too. This will then start a massive scramble for the remaining Big-12 schools and possibly changes for the SEC, ACC, Big East, and Mountain West conferences. College football is in for some seismic changes and soon. Good or bad?

The whole Big 12 will dissolve and the Pac 10 will end up getting most of the solid teams with texas, texas tech, texas A&M, oklahoma, oklahoma st, and possibly baylor. I think its a bad idea cause its just going to lead to more bitching and moaning. Im an Arizona fan so its interesting to see if the pac 10 could land all these teams and be one hell of a powerhouse

ESPN is reporting that Texas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, and Texas A&M could join Pac-10 as early as Tuesday, but there are conflicting reports from various sources. I read one article from a Kansas newspaper stating that their sources say that Oklahoma has reached out to the SEC to join, and that the SEC has invited Virginia Tech to join with them. It was also mentioned on ESPN that some board members at A&M want to join the SEC instead of the Pac-10.

The Big 12 will end up being no more thanks to Texas being greedy. This is why Neb left. The big ten will get even bigger either this year or next. I can see the big ten ending up with 16 members when all is said and done.
I can see Texas/Texas A&M(they will end up together) wanting to play in the SEC, but i don't think the SEC wants them so they will end up in the Pac-10.

A&M wants to go to the SEC, but Texas has no desires to go there. Looks like the Big 12 South schools will go to Pac 10 or stay in a 10 team Big 12.

News Flash-texas declines invite to Pac-10. They say they will stay in a 10 team big 12 but I can see more teams leaving the big 12 for a better deal then they get in the big 12. Unlike most conferences, the big12 payout structure is top heavy in favor of Texas and the little schools get screwed.

As a football fan, I am happy that Texas stayed in the big 12 . As an Arizona Wildcats and Pac 10 fan, slightly disappointed but atleast they werent be as many blowouts

Utah goes to the Pac 10
Boise to MWC
Memphis and Central Florida to the Big East
Louisiana Tech and Middle Tenn. to CUSA
WAC goes to 8 teams finally having a conference close together, will lose TV after boise left

I can't see the big 12 staying at 10 teams and being a successful league for very long

lots of leages only run with ten teams and do just fine i'm sure they'll do just fine with ten also look at it as trimming the fat at making the leage alot tighter between the teams that stay

To me, it seems that the Big12 is now Texas and the 9 dwarfs. Texas appears to want to be the big shot with no challengers or no real competition. They will only be playing perhaps 1 top 25 team each year so that they end up with a good record and then will get destroyed in any Bowl game they appear in.

I don't really see how you consider Oklahome a dwarf. The loss of Colorado is nothing as they are terrible with little prospect of ever being good. Nebraska is the major loss here, but that's only going to matter if they can ever get back to their old glory which is still a big question mark.

Texas Tech and OK ST have both had stints in the top 10 in recent years, but they can disappoint when it matters most. They are not alone though, many non traditional powers in all conf. have had let downs with good teams.

You can't also rule out the addition of a couple of teams by 2011. We'll just have to wait and see on that one though.

again we come to the call for a playoff system grading a team on strength of scheduale is not right, and i think there is startin to be alot of peridy in these connfrences so the teams with the best record should enter into a plyoff system to determine a national title, hell no one is listening any way lol:cool:

With the "super" conference that was going to adventually end up causing a playoff system to happen.

There all second rate conferences compared the South Eastern Conference anyway. Texas is not stupid enough to come to the SEC and play.
