I think most people saw this coming early in the season. The pounding LT has taken over the years has took a toll on him. He's just not what he once was. My bet is the Eagles will sign him as a 3rd down back to get maybe 8-10 touches per game. Wouldn't mind seeing the Colts drop Addai and pick up LT. Brown could start and LT be 3rd down back.

Don't be surprised if the Saints make a bid to obtain LT. Brees is a good friend of LT from his days with the Chargers. I also heard that the Eagles released Westbrook, so someone who needs a RB will have a nice selection to choose from this spring. Both players still have plenty to offer certain teams in need of an experienced, talented running back.

Yeah, they've been talking on ESPN about Brees wanting LT. I just don't see that being a good fit. They're already stacked at RB with Thomas, Bush, and Bell. They could drop one, but I don't see LT as an improvement in that scenario.

Add LT to the same scrap heap containing Edgerrin James and Shaun Alexander. Burnt out RB's.

They all burn out now days after a few great seasons. I think that's why so many teams play two and sometimes even three rbs now.

I'd say we'll be saying the same thing about Peterson, Johnson, and Jones Drew in a few years.

There have been reports that they are actually thinking about trading Sproles and drafting a RB. Sproles is explosive, but I can't see him being the main back for an entire season.

About time for Sproles to get going now LT is great but he had so many chances last season at the 1 and the result was mainly field goals pt made
sproles asint all that he may be quick but but he cant take a hit that well the only reason he has lasted this long so far is the fact that he's had LT to share time with as a full time back he wont last a full season:cool:

I'm sure they will draft another RB to help share the carries, you have to remember he also plays big on the special teams. I see him in more of a role of Reggie Bush execpt much more effective.

I think the chiefs would probably end up picking em up as a 3rd down, if not either the browns, broncos, or patriots. For some reason the broncos and pats always a bunch of half balks. I'm sure he'll find a good team but probably won't be a started, wish him luck. :)

If you think about it most of the RBs in free agency are in the same boat as LT old and probably looking for a large contract, so i tihnk they well draft a more of a 3rd down back guy

LT is a very classy guy and I hope he plays well. Having said that, he's up in age for a marquee back who has taken quite a pounding over the course of his career. His production has declined steadily over the last three years even with a reduced workload. I'm pulling for him, but I don't think he has anything left in the tank. He had his day, though. Just 4-5 years ago he was regarded as the best back in football, before Adrian Peterson came along.

LT is washed up "done" and the New York Jets wanting to sign em. I figure thats a fail two lackluster seasons in a row, NFL Runnging Back past 30 Y.O. most def on the short end of there career, which is sad but NFL is a performance driven leauge, and if u cant hack it your cut off the team

Goooooooooooo J-E-T-S Jets Jets Jets

Well, LT wasn't signed to be a starting RB for the Jets. He'll be a third-down back and give Green a rest when needed. The Jets see him as a valuable receiver for 3rd down.

LT is washed up.

He's got nothing left.

The chargers were stupid to release Michael Turner...

Front office decision making has not improved since the days of Ryan Leaf ...suffice it to say one of my neighbors (when I lived in San Diego) worked for the Chargers' organization...he opted to go to another company because he got tired of dealing with the blurred vision plan there.

the best way tob get a good runnong back is in the draft only a few backs do really well after their first team, backs take a beating and dont have long seasons sure you want your team to get really good backs but someone eleses retread is not always the best:cool:
