so i check the bcs standings to see if oregon moved up to number 1 where it should be this week only to find that they were now ranked no. 1 in all the power rankings but were moved from 2 to 3 in the bcs. There must be a tremendous amount of money being spent to fix the bcs standings. FSU has played nobody all season except for an over rated clemson who also has played nobody except an over rated sec team that has now been beat several times but still they move ahead of ohiostate and oregon. is anyone else tired of this obvious scam.

I dont know if its a scam and Im a big fan of Oregon. Ive never liked the Bcs and im glad they'll have a 4 team playoff. I dont think its in effect yet though. I like the NFL a lot more so really dont care too much about the ncaa and how they run. Hope Oregon goes undefeated though.

If Oregon wins out their SoS will push them over FSU anyway. Don't worry just keep winning.

The best thing Oregon can do is continue to win. I'm fairly sure if they do they'll have a hold on #2 in the BCS by the end of the season. Oregon can score more bonus points by beating its next two opponents, UCLA & Stanford, both of which are ranked. Oregon is virtually tied with FSU right now (http://espn.go.com/college-football/bcs), I believe these two wins would push them ahead of the Seminoles. The Noles do play (currently) top ten Miami Florida, but beyond that their only sure ranked opponent comes in the ACC Championship game. Conference championships may loom large, they may determine who gets in, who drops out.

Chance are good that at least one of the three drops a game anyway. Too early to worry about it just yet.

The BCS has been dominated by the SEC because of bias due to conflict of interest in the coaches' poll (usatoday). Alabama gets a 'mulligan' loss every year now, despite the fact that SEC teams generally avoid one another. There's no need for them to do anything different, until the playoff is implemented. SEC teams all get the one and two-loss poll boost over better teams "because they play in the SEC". The conference is large enough that it is impossible for them to all play, so they load up on conference cupcakes (yes, even the SEC has lesser teams that are sacrificial lambs for the big boys). It's a great scheme for their conference, just follow the money trail. In reality, in the real world, we call that a monopoly.

It's too bad this isn't the first year of the playoffs. Alabama, oregon, florida state, and ohio state would make an awesome 4 team bracket.

Im glad Oregon jumped over FSU. And yeah, that would be a nice 4 team playoff. But who knows how the season will end.

There you have it - Oregon easily passed the ACC's Florida State after their win over top 25 UCLA. FSU was impressive again, and they face top 10 Miami Florida this Saturday. That game is in Tallahassee, expect the Noles to destroy Miami. The Hurricanes will take a hard fall in the polls, out of the top ten. The ironic thing here is that FSU will not be served well in the long run by obliterating the Hurricanes. And even if FSU gains on Oregon, the Ducks go on the road looking for another notch in their BCS belt versus top 25 Stanford, giving them a firmer grip on #2. Stanford could put up a fight, I'd love to see that game close in the 4th quarter.

i am not expecting a close 1 no disrespect to standford. but the team i feel is really getting the raw deal is ohio state whose schedule is many times tougher than fsu and should clearly be the next team in line should 1 or 2 slip up

If FSU and OSU played Saturday at a neutral site, FSU would win by at least 14. The OSU defense is a joke, and the FSU defense is among the top five in the country. Furthermore, FSU has speed at every position on the field and the best WRs in the country. FSU would score on nearly every possession, and likely put up 50. There is absolutely zero chance OSU could have with them. Zero.

how can you say such a thing. how do you know how good their defense when all they have played are girls and an over way over ranked clemson and a way way way way over ranked miami. and the sick part is their next games are even easier. . But you should get your game because unless bama screws up against lsu or auburn then the ducks whip bama in the championship game and ohio state and fsu get that game you were speaking of.and osu most likely cleans their clock and here you have this rant for all to see

unless of coarse osu goes to the rosebowl and has to play a proven team which could end up being the best game of the bunch.:p

Florida St just passed Oregon for the #2 spot again, but the Ducks are likely to pass the Noles if they beat top ten Stanford Thursday night. FSU's only chances for a loss until bowl season are at Florida and in a likely rematch with Miami in the ACC Championship game. Ironically, the Florida game should have been a boost for FSU in the BCS, but Florida is nowhere near the Top 25 (bogus SEC power). Miami is likely to win out, we'll just have to wait to see how high they can rise in the polls until then.

There is no way for me to KNOW without them actually playing. I will gladly, however, put my money where my mouth is.

If the FSU vs. OSU game happens, I will wager any amount of money you're comfortable with that FSU wins. Just let me know how much, and we'll get some CC member to hold the money for us (until it all comes to me).

Almost impossible for OSU and FSU to play this year (unless it would be for the NC). Unless OSU is in the title game they will be in the Rose vs the PAC-10 representative (likely Stanford). FSU meanwhile will be in the NC game or the Orange Bowl.

Then I guess I'll root for Stanford to beat Oregon on Thursday night and one of the SEC teams on Alabama's schedule to beat them. The latter could certainly happen, but I think the former is pretty unlikely.

Florida State has had an incredible run on recruiting for more than a decade now. I've always thought Florida was a hotbed anyway. Miami and Florida(of the SEC, yes) have been passed by, lots of work cut out. 2013 is the culmination of it. Frankly, I hate Florida State, but I'll admit the truth.

If that were to happen just imagine the uproar when a 1 loss Bama team gets in the title game over a no loss OSU. It could certainly happen.

The first half of this scenario certainly looks like it will come true. Now if some SEC team can just knock 'Bama off ....

would be an easy bet for me to take and one which i will make anyway at the sportsbook if it happens, proven against unproven is always a good bet when sports betting. However as we just saw with oregon when good collehe teams play each other a good team can beat the better team if the better team has red multiple red zone mistakes and turnovers, so large wagers on college games are few for me.

Well, if FSU vs. OSU happens you can bet with me instead of a book and lose the downside of the vig. Your call.
