Well, today is the opening ceremony and first game of the Cup (brazil x Croatia - 5:00 PM in Brazil and 4:00 PM -ET), I live in a city about 2 hours from the stadium that will happen Cup opening (state São Paulo), but I will not watch the games at the stadium, I'll watch TV with my friends at the bar drinking a few beers and doing BBQ. :)

Here in Brazil it's winter, but in most cities the climate is hot and dry, sun here now, probably will see the game on TV in shorts, T-shirt and flip flop :)

In northern and northeastern Brazil region is warmer still, is where the teams from germany, USA, England, portugal, etc. are, and I think very hot and unfavorable for the practice of football weather!

The Brazil will be champion? Frankly I do not know, I think the favorites are: Brazil, Germany, argentina and Spain, the champion must be between these teams.

If anyone wants to ask something, feel free below a link of the Google home page, some news about the World Cup:

News for World Cup 2014

Anyway, I hope the World Cup happens in the best way, without violence, fights fans, accidents, and with much joy and fun among people, and that the best team win!

Good Luck! :)

Yes, Sunny I do not like the games starting 13:00 (1:00 PM), it's a crazy time to play soccer, I prefer games 4:00/5:00 PM and 6:00/7:00 PM I think the best times to play/watch. :)

In the first stage, most games these times (afternoon / early evening in Brazil) it seems that some game (Team Japan) will start the night 9:00 PM.

Very cool, Deby, I also plan to see many games I wish much luck to you and husband, the teams from the USA and England do the best in this World Cup:)

**Now I need to work, I will monitor the grill at the bar

Social inequality. Lots of very, very poor people and some very, very rich people. A lot of people in Brazil feel the government should have spent money on the poor instead of the World Cup.

This rioting Phil, is the result of mismanagement of the public sector (government) are "protesters" opponents the World Cup Brazil, here fights, violence and confusion, are becoming routine, and it seems that the law does not exist, this is one of the reasons becauseI was not interested in me watch "live" the opening of the World Cup.

This is a true fact Joe, I, as well as thousands and thousands I would say the vast majority of Brazilians are not opponents Cup in Brazil (we love soccer) if,
government, offered the population, Health, Education, Public Transportation, Jobs, and all other basic services with a good quality, but it does not happen here, the government of Brazil is corrupt, too bureaucratic, and we pay high taxes on everything, and got very little back in public services.

I'll post a video below, if you have time and want to see, to understand a little more ...

lab man, Yesterday at the World Cup opening in Sao Paulo the union officials subway declined and there was no strike or stoppage of services, but there is a tension in various sectors (police, airline staff, bus drivers) at any time can get a strike, for example, the city of Fortaleza (state of Ceara) where will be the next game Team Brazil on Tuesday, are promoting a strike in some sectors, including the police, I honestly do not know what will happen...

Ask a question:

Why the field looks so bad when England play VS Italy.
Seems like the host does not take good care about the grass growing the field....:(
Does players from Brazil league always play under this bad conditions?
it is hard to predict what the balls goes to
how high the balls gonna jump,
and important, very easy to get injured....:(

Yes, Sunny, you're right, the fields in Brazil are bad,in the Second Division of soccer fields are lousy and the playing field of England x Italy was made at the last minute, days before the game the field was not yet in a position, unfortunately this is not treated seriously in Brazil, and yes, many injuries happen because of bad field ...:(
