So I am a big boxing fan and also a Brit and this would be the biggest fight between 2 British boxers in history and I for one hope it does happen next. However with boxing politics these days and covid19 plus all the shenanigans with Fury/Wilder 3 legal battles and WBO mandatory for AJ there is a lot to overcome for this fight to happen next.

According to both camps the financial splits etc is all agreed so they now only have location, who walks out first etc to agree on. These things should be sorted out but the stumbling blocks could involve the below points.

Fury / Wilder 3?

In my opinion, there is little to no point in seeing this fight again. We have seen in both fights that Tyson Fury has Deontay Wilders number, outboxed him for 12 rounds in the 1st fight bar the 2 knockdowns and total domination in the 2nd.

The issue is the rematch clause, Deontay is adament he is owed the rematch and it has now gone legal to arbitration. The thing is Deontay camp activated the rematch immediatley but then went silent, didnt confirm the fight details (location, date etc) by the contractual deadline and instead let the deadline expire thus the rematch clause is now void. So in Fury's mind this now paves the way for the undisputed fight with AJ. I guess with this one we will just have to see what happens in the legal battle.

WBO Mandatory for AJ?

The WBO have come out and stated that the Usyk fight must happen next and threatened to strip AJ of the WBO if he takes the Fury fight instead. So imo AJ/Eddie Hearn should try to get Usyk to take a step aside payment with a guaranteed shot at the winner next. If this cannot be agreed then vacate the belt and fight Fury for the rest of the belts.

Interestingly I read recently that Usyk has indicated he would be prepared to listen to step aside offers as he knows all to well the importance and magnitude of undisputed, he did achieve it himself at cruiser of course. So hopefully they can come to an agreement on this one.

If and its a big IF but if these issues can be sorted out then hopefully we will get to see one of the biggest heavyweight boxing fights in the last decade or so and certainly the biggest for British boxing.

I would love for it to take place in the UK at Wembley Stadium but unlikely with covid and the lack of fans aloud in stadiums so most likely be in Saudi or US. My preference would be Saudi at least it would be a reasonable time for UK fans and not 4/5am like it would be in the US.

So fight fans of CC; do you think the fight will go ahead? and if so what is your prediction for the fight?

My prediction: Fury UD or Joshua KO (rnds 6-10).

Huge boxing fan myself. Cant see it happening till late 2021 or 2022. Depends if joshua wants to drop a belt. I think usyk might have his say first. Especially if fury wilder 3 happens.

Yes that was/is my concern that Usyk could throw a spanner on the works. However he has recently come out to say he may step aside for undisputed and if not AJ/Hearn both stated they would vacate the WBO.

The Wilder situation is more difficult though, not sure how that will pan out. Kinda think he would step aside for a big payoff though.

Fingers crossed it happens 2021 but like you think it will the the back end of the year.

I would like to see this fight as soon as possible, but I think Tyson Fury will not leave a chance to win
