Has anyone seen UFC 168 Anderson Silva vs Chris Weidman rematch?

Such a sick fight and disgusting ending for Anderson Silva. I think it's time for him to retire. Regardless of this match, he will remain legend.

Props to Chris Weidman as he's young and I believe he will retain the title for a long time too. Although he's striking background is kickboxing, he was using lot of muay thai techniques and utilizing elbows and knees extremely well, especially on ground. Anytime two fighters are on the ground and one fighter is on top but held down to the ground because the fighter on his back is pulling a guard, I'm always yelling that you can elbow the guy in the head. Most fighters strategize to submit them or get out but being a Muay Thai practitioner, I always see those opportunities to elbow, and Chris Weidman took advantage of those opportunities beautifully. Cain Velasquez is another fighter who utilizes elbows very well when on ground.

Yes not the ending anyone saw coming for sure,I to believe age has caught up with Silva the mind is willing but I don't think the body is anymore at 38 years old.Cudos to Weidman he seems like he will be a good champion.Silva will still go down as one of the greatest of all time .......scorp

I was rooting for Chris to win via KO or a very convincing ground & pound just to prove his detractors wrong. But I never (ever) wish anything nasty or a serious gruesome injury (like the one that happened in this fight) to any fighters in this sport, especially to a legend like Anderson. Yes, this is a contact sport but I still cringe (maybe because I'm a woman) when I saw the slow mo replay that dislocated his leg (Ouch!). I think it's time for Silva to finally call it a day.

I'm looking forward to Weidman vs Belfort or Weidman vs Machida. That could be a dandy..

I don't think "might" is the right word here. After such an injury, which is a complete bone break, his recovery time will take years. By that time he'll be way too old to compete again.

Sorry to say, but this was the last of him in the UFC octagon.

Was so brutal finding this out. I don't watch much MMA any more but Silva was well on his way to going down as the greatest fighter of all time (this coming from a Fedor fanboy). Now it's all over. With an injury like that he will be lucky to walk properly even after a year's worth of rehab.

I watched the video after seeing the images and reading about it and Weidman was so unclassy. One of the greatest fighters of all time has just had his career ended and you're going to jump about with joy at the thought that you did it, really Weidman, really? (Not that you actually had much to do with it mind you)

Weidman said in an interview that he respects Anderson Silva and he'll still be known as greatest fighter of all times. Weidman was just happy that he beat the greatest middleweight MMA fighter of all times TWO TIMES in an undisputed way and defended the title. I would be happy as hell if I were to defeat greatest Muay Thai fighter in the world Saenchai and nobody outside of Muay Thai know who he is while Anderson Silva is known to lot of people outside of MMA.

Only classless act at the UFC 168 that night was Ronda Rousey who acted like a little c***. But of course, this is what women in LA are like anyways.

Ouch, I'm from L.A. Pokerfonia and I'm definitely not like that.;)

You were right about Ronda, what a classless b***h! Not only in UFC 168 but the entire Ultimate Fighter Season 18 where she always flip the bird to Meisha (especially the Wall Climbing incident between the two of them).

I'm from LA too btw. Dealing with many a-holes and c***s, I'm quite of an a-hole from time to time depending on who it is. There are exceptions to every rule.

Pretty much repeating what's been said above on the outcome of Silva-Weidman - that was really hard to watch, even worse than the slow-mo of Jon Jones breaking his toe.

If anything though I think this victory was even less decisive than his first one. After all, Weidman didn't even "beat" Silva this time - Silva was defeated by a freak injury. I know he was dominant in the first round and he looked like he was on his way to a win, but like I said it was hardly decisive.

For proof you only need to look at the pre-fight talk about Travis Browne: whenever anyone talks about his lone loss, it's about how it happened because he tore his hamstring. Nobody gives Bigfoot any credit for "beating" him. Give it time and I suspect Silva's last fight will be viewed in exactly the same way.

Only classless act at the UFC 168 that night was Ronda Rousey who acted like a little c***. But of course, this is what women in LA are like anyways.

It may not have been classy, but I think at least it was honest - personally, I'm happy she didn't pull a Chael Sonnen and basically take back all of the pre-fight hype as soon as the fight was over. And even though it was a one-sided beatdown, I 100% agree with Rousey-Tate getting fight of the night too.

Props to Weidman on the win. I knew he'd come through but not from checking a leg kick & in the process breaking his opponents leg! That was sick dude  I watched the replay over-n-over & it doesn't look as if that is an injury Silva will be coming back from. We will see though.

I'm really glad Weidman is the CHAMPION! :adore:

As far as the Rousey fight goes, I was soooo glad to see her win again in her classic armbar fashion! She's sooo hott!

& for those who think her attitude sucks, she has great reasons for that. If someone makes comments about my family etc., I won't shake your hand either. That just doesn't make any sense to shake someone's hand that talks shit about you & your family. & I will flip the bird to someone who talks shit about my family like she did to Meisha. I've actually had to beat people's asses before for that (which she did too HaHa) so flipping the bird & not shaking someone's hand is nothing.

That was my fave UFC that's ever been held. I hope the rest are up to par.

Aah yes. And I'm sure you would be happy if someone said she can beat the crap out of your spouse.

Ronda is intentionally acting like this to gain publicity and notoriety. She said it in an interview because she believes that's how you get fame, such as Mayweather, Muhammad Ali. She's just copying what Nick and Nate Diaz brothers were doing. Only difference is, she's the best female MMA fighter out there while Nate and Nick Diaz are losers who can't compete at the major leagues(UFC), so they had to retire since they were only good at the minor leagues(Strikeforce). Their stupid mind games of trying to get into other people's head didn't work at UFC against Carlos Condit, GSP, and Benson Henderson.

I was a fan of Ronda but lately, especially in The Ultimate Fighter, she acts like a c*** who needs a d*** stuck up in her ass to get a release. Acts like a b**** with a tantrum. But I do agree that she's hot.

...actually, I'm prepared to eat my words on the "freak injury" count:

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1904314-ufc-168-how-chris-weidman-buried-the-legend

Long story short (though Jack Slack writes awesome articles, so the long story is worth the read) the check is apparently a technique that Weidman deliberately worked on after the first fight and one that he executed exceptionally well.

Very interesting...thanks for the link. I come from a boxing, judo, wrestling background and learned those blocks from judo. Really never understood the reasoning behind it until now.

Why don't you grow up and see for yourself how childish Ronda acts, especially in The Ultimate Fighter instead of acting like a simp. Ronda looks like a girl who's always on her period. Btw, someone stated here that Weidman was classless. Really? So I guess Weidman is classless for celebrating his victory but at the same time, giving respect to Anderson Silva as the greatest fighter of all times who will always be remembered while people ignore Ronda's classless act?

Btw, as I've said before, all Ronda's doing is copying what Diaz brothers were doing. She said it in an interview long time ago that she loves to trash-talk and she believes it's the way to gain publicity since Mayweather and Muhammad Ali did it. While she's got skills to back it up, she's copying Diaz brothers who were sore losers who thought their stupid mind games will work against major league fighters(UFC) just because it worked at minor league fighters(Strikeforce).

You think Chael Sonnen isn't honest? He expressed his hatred towards Anderson Silva back when he used to hate him and wanted to destroy him so bad to get that belt. Sonnen's last fight against Shogun, he didn't have any beef or hype against Shogun. They just fought, Shogun guillotined Shogun, after Shogun was submitted, Sonnen asks Rua if he's ok, and actually had class.

One of major honest beefs I've seen were Mir vs Lesnar rematch, or Dan Henderson vs Michael Bisping. Ronda's feud with Miesha Tate doesn't come anywhere close to it. Ronda acts childish with her tantrums while Miesha just laughs at it while we all know Ronda's intentionally acting like that and trying so hard to gain publicity by hating on Miesha. So much for the "honest". Ronda acted like this even vs Kaufman, making video blogs of mocking Kaufman before the fight, trying to start a feud with her but Kaufman didn't bite into her game.

Gina Carano is far more respectable female MMA fighter. She's the one who truly set the path for women's MMA, Ronda just used her path to expand the future of female MMA. It's too bad Gina quitted to become a Hollywood actress, which I don't mind at all because she's also creating a path by doing this to show that being successful in women MMA can make you became a celebrity and successful outside of MMA.

Checking the leg kick techniques are taught in judo? I didn't know that. I trained in Muay Thai on and off for five years and it's utilized a lot in Muay Thai, along with kickboxing.

Although Weidman's striking background is supposedly kickboxing, his style is very suited towards Muay Thai since he utilizes his elbows extremely well. But nowadays, some of kickboxing courses teach elbowing and kneeing techniques too. After all, kickboxing did come from influence of Muay Thai.

Ronda hater much? Miesha who? Women fight in the ufc because of Ronda Rousey! Btw just because she openly said that she hates miesha doesn't mean she's copying diaz brothers! Also Sonnen's last fight was against rashad, not shogun.
Op: Silva's claim he'd beat weidman if it wasn't for injury just makes ma lmao
