Yea, they played great again. After beating the Gators in the SEC game the way they did, they deserved to win the Championship.

who should be ranked 2nd, Texas, Fla., or Boise
I still contend that the Natl. Championship was in dec.
The Colt injury has no impact for me, injury is part of the game.
I wonder if dad kept him from playing to protect Pro money. ( his after game interview was thoughtless, maybe will cost him millions going pro )

Alabama are National Champions

Even some of us Auburn Fans pulled for Alabama last night. I was proud of the way they played for themselves and for the beloved Southeastern Conference.

Besides I made $ 500 smackers on the Tide minus 4.

Auburn will take you down next year. Maybe!!!!!:deal:

It just wasnt the same with out Colt. It was supposed to be the best against the best. Bama took out Texas' Q.B. and right then you could tell it was going to be over. Great second half though. Kinda thought Teaxs might just pull out the win. Bama's D was just too good.

I gotta give Texas some credit for narrowing the score to 24-21 and they had the ball with a chance to tie or go ahead. But the Tide's defense rose to the occasion and caused that key fumble on the Texas 3 with Ingram, who played a great game, finishing things off three plays later. It was a better game than I thought it would be after McCoy got hurt. ;) :D

So, do you think Alabama will always have an asterisk next to their name?

i would say so.

i mean you cant take anything away from Alabama..they won...buuuuut..i dunno its a completely different game with your senior QB in their instead of your red shirted freshmen...buuuuut its a whole new game from Bama too if McCoy is in their..they were soooo conservative it was unreal...never threw a pass, just kept tryin to slowly grind the clock down by runnin the ball.

I think their will always be maybe not an "asterisk"...but definately a big "What If"

Good job to Alabama but I refuse to call them a national champion. They can be a BCS champion if they like but everyone knows that system is flawed.

What they should do now is play Boise State and see if they are really a national champion or not since both ended undefeated.

It was obvious Texas had no chance anyway. They shouldn't have even been in the game as bad as their team played down the stretch. With Colt in there Alabama would have just tried to score and would have easily done it.

The SEC is the only conference in college football that requires a playoff after main season play. Alabama more than beat Florida then, so why should they have to keep playing again & again to see who's #1, Ted? #2 Alabama beat #1 Florida very handily & then the BCS Championship was between #1 Alabama & #2 Texas. Regardless, Alabama came out the victor last night & are the NATIONAL CHAMPIONS! ROLL TIDE ROLL!:D

buut the BCS is very flawed and i cant wait til the contract is up and obama and everybody else wants to implement a playoff system similar to the NFL or NCAAB

You must live in a very very small town in the south to try and pass that off as fact.

Alabama's defense won the game as soon as they knocked out McCoy.

Interesting difference in that McCoy claimed he wanted to be out on the field and INgram was out on the field putting the game on Ice for the Tide.

McCoy's awesome sideline display had to cost him seven figures and should down grade him to mid second round in the draft.

Yes, I live in Birmingham, Alabama, a rather small town that you can't find on the map:eek: ...if you read my whole post, you would have seen what I meant. I don't mind playing in the National Championship game, but The SEC is the only conference that is required to play in a shootout AFTER main season play, and it affects their standings before the Bowl games are even held. It hasn't always been played that way. It used to only be the main season games that determined who would play in which bowl for the National Championship.:D

Not sure what you mean about SEC being only conference to require playoff, but doesn't really matter, congrats to Bama. The BCS is screwed up, but that's not the teams fault.

They play SEC East & SEC West after all other games are played & then the bowl games are played. It used to be only the SEC Conference...not East & West. :D

But I guess it doesn't really matter...Alabama is number One in the country, regardless! ROLL TIDE!:D

Actually most all the major conferences play the same thing as the SEC does.

In the ACC they have two divisions, at the end of the regular season they meet to decide the ACC champion.

The Big 12 does it too, that's how Texas became the champion.

Any league with enough teams does it. The Big 10 doesn't because they don't have the requisite number of teams.

Actually I think the real reason the Big 11, doesn't have a playoff is, it would further expose what a weak-assed overrated league it is.

lol, the last 2 games that ala. played, the top 2 quarterbacks in the country were crying like babies on the side line

And Boise thinks they want some of that, those last 2 games were against the number 1 and number 2 teams. TCU was only top 10 team that they played. Great season, but maybe top 5 team.

I think all the confusion might help at the poker table but not too good on sports commentary.

Congrats to Alabama and all her fans.
