Who actually bets on the gee gee's on "The Grand National"
For the last few years I have made bets only on the grand national as I am hopeless winning when I make a bet on the gee gee's, I would rake it in if I don't male a bet as that is the only time my horse romps home
As a child I loved the grand national until one year when I was about 7 my horse fell and had to be killed as it was badly hurt and I blamed myself for picking that horse, I cried myself to sleep and for about 15 years I never put a bet on the grand national, it was my sister who said, the grand national is a lot safer now, which yes it is but now and again there still is fatalities!! My dad also mentions the horses love to compete and I said how does the owner know his/her horse wants to compete in this race, he would joke that the owner would say to the horse "You want to sit this out son, as it can be dangerous" and horse would reply "Naaaaaaay" I would joke back, so why the long face
He did make a good point tho, when a horse loses his jockey, the horse carries on with the race and obviously he runs better without the load on his back, and it does seem the horse is loving every minute of it
Now back on track, I have picked two horses this year and they are Double Seven £1 E/W @ 14/1 but didn't take the SP (and as I am writing this my dad had just informed me that our 2 horses may not run as Double Seven doesn't like mud and it is raining @ aintree!!) My second horse is Long Run £1 E/W @ 16/1 again didn't take the SP.
The reason behind the name picking of the horses are Double Seven compares to holding pocket 7s, I more than not hit my sets with 77 and the Long Run refers to running deep (long) in a poker tournament.
Hoping for no fatalities this year, I hope that more than actually winning the dosh
Who are you backing??
