Im clearly a Jets homer so I will always think they got a chance.
But the defense is beyond great. #1 defense in some catorgories. I think #2-#3 overall.
So the D will keep us is any game. Imagine Geno cutting down on turnovers and ifthe defense can force turnovers?? OMG bigtime wow!
We can be good. Geno is making a better player out of Holmes and Hill.
Bilal Powell is turning into a decent RB. Ivory has been a bust.
Sheldon Richardon/Wilkerson duo is AMAZING! Need to see big games out of Milliner!....
Lets get it! @ Titans this week. I think we can win. Stop CJ2k which no RB has been able to run on us. So stay composed no "20"penalties LOL....and we can have a shot at coming out of Tennessee with the victory!

Just what I find assuming is that preseason rankings had the Jets @ #32. LMAO.
We are much better than that. Once the offense starts clicking we can compete! Still alot to work on but to say they are the worst in the league is borderline asinine.
Just pissed we didn't get TB 2014's 1st rounder!
But I'm happy with Sheldon Richardson. But with the recent benching of Freeman they look like a 4-5 win team at best.

I couldn't disagree with you more. Without even thinking, Seattle, Houston, Denver, Kansas City all better defenses than the Jets. The only respectable team the Jets have played so far was an insanely beaten up Pats team that can't catch a cold. And I use the term respectable very loosely.
The best thing the Jets have going for them is a fairly non challenging schedule.

The difference with this defense is that we are able to pressure/sack the QB without having to blitz. That makes Rexs defense that much more powerful.
We always had to blitz inorder to get pressure.
And you talk the Pats, see right there we get no respect. All that was said was how they couldnt catch and had no WRs. Never once about maybe how the Jets defense played great besides 1-2 breakdowns?
None has been able to run on us so far. The front 7 has been insane. We successfully shut down each RB we faced so far, Doug Martin, Ridley, Spiller/Jackson.
Jackson had 1 huge running play which was only becuase of a screwup. Richardson thought Pace had him stuffed and celebrated to early which allowed FJax to spit free for monster gain.
We also have I believe one of the best (lowest) QBR or completiton % vs our defense.
So yea now its the Jets non challenging schedule. The preseason had the Jets ranked #32/32 LOL. And now we start playing decent ball and now the reasonings start coming out.
We had 16 pressures and 8 sacks alone vs BUF last week. Thats unhead of the hit and pressure the QB that many times in one game.

Yea we still need alot of help. But Geno is playing alot better than I thought. Just needs to cut down on the INT's. He has 6 but like 4 of them were joke INTs like tipped and dead time INT.
So if he can play legit I dont see why this team cant be like 09' Jets. We just dont have #1 rushing attack like we did in 09' lol.

I would love to give credit when due, but I think the 'homer' is coming out a bit too much on the Jets here. I would LOVE anyone to 'dethrone' the Pats, just as much as anyone out there. Just don't think it's going to happen.
Yes, when speaking of the game between the two, the Pats almost tried to lose that game. There is a reason why I say they can't catch a cold - their WR's are leading the league in dropped passes through the first 3 weeks. That does nothing good for the Pats at all. I could probably say the Jets def was solid at best, but the Pats tried to give that game away, rather than the Jets almost won it. Sorry.
Ridley is a part of a team that has yet to score a TD on the ground this season. But ok, they didn't allow many yards that game. They also didn't allow many yards vs the Bucs and Dougie M. They allowed a 4.7 avg against the two RB's in Buf. As stated, they gave up most yards on one play. But that's what to expect from this def, they're an undisciplined unit that'll make mistakes like early celebrations and tons of penalties. I could point out that they haven't had less than 7 penalties in a single game, and as much as 13. Small sample size, but if they want to be stellar they need to clean their act up.
As for the QB completion percentage, they played against a team who has already benched that QB and a team, as stated, can't catch a cold.
Don't really care about preseason rankings, but their actions on the field in the season isn't far off of their preseason ranking honestly man. Their record isn't reflective of their play. They're very lucky to have a winning record, thanks to an 'awesome' idiotic penalty made by the Bucs. Again, would LOVE anyone to take this division away from the Pats, but with a -6 turnover ratio through the first 3 games, and having already lost to the Pats this season, and losing to them for 5 straight games, it's not looking too bright.
QB pressure is great. They've gotten some decent sack numbers in the other games as well. They NEED to continue this to have any, yes any, hope this season.
I can't predict futures... Can only hope I win the lotto at one point in my life. The only thing saving Geno is no other competent QB wearing a Jets jersey. He's lucky to have a winning record, and what he really needs to concentrate on is stringing a couple of games together without any interceptions. He makes WAY TOO MANY mistakes, and with the schedule ahead it wont float. They will not get by against the future teams with a -2 turnover ratio per game avg.

Yea yesterday we looked undisiplined and just flat out awful.
Again with the flags it is becoming ridiculous.
Geno leads all QB in turnovers. His little chick hands cant hold on to the damn ball. This was a concern coming out of college.
We got ATL next week on MNF. They haven't been playing so well. And their record shows it (1-3).
They are the worst in the redzone and we are one of the best Ds in redzone protection. It could be a bloodbath or a decent game if we get Milliner back because Walls filling in for him yesterday was a disaster. We also need to stop the damn penalties, its unreal!. Geno needs to also not give free points away on turnovers.
Titans scored 28 pts on turnovers. So take away those and we got a ballgame yesterday. We need to go into ATL and win. Next part of the schedule is brutal.

Any JET fan will tell you we didn't expect to win even one game. Geno has won two. In my books that's a bonus. He will get better and not make boneheaded plays.

He is the team now. He has to step up. Being a QB in the NFL can come and go so if he doesnt step up and play likehe should he will be passed over for Matt Simms and who knows, maybe Simms can take the ball and run with it?..?.....
So he needs to cut out these dumb errors and play like a F'N Jet!
