I recently downloaded the free program Equilab and just want to warn other forum members, that use of this program while having the pokerstars client open is forbidden, and PokerStars seem to be pretty harsh about it.
I had Equilab open, because I used it earlier and forgot to close it, and when I logged on to Stars, it only took a few seconds, before a warning popped up, and I had an email as well. And this was without even playing a single hand of poker. There is no consequenzes of this first warning, but according to the email "further violations will be met with harsher actions".
Right now I have no money on PokerStars and dont play there, but if I am going to play there again, I will remove Equilab from my computer. For me its simply to dangerous to risk having maybe tousinds of dollars confiscated, just because I forgot to close a program before opening a poker client.
This is not a criticism of PokerStars policy, because I do agree, that programs like Equilab should not be used during play. It would however be nice, if software providers build detection into their programs, so that the program would not work, if for instance the PokerStars client is detected running. Some like Flopzilla have done this already.
