I recently posted a message on these forums referring people to give everestpoker.com a try - Up until today I've been quite satisfied with the site, minus some rather lengthy support delays.

Two days ago however, My account, my girlfriends accout, and her friend have all been banned. I suspect it is because we all play from my one internet connection here, but multiple people live in this house and we all share the same connection (thus same IP).

Everest however banned these accounts with no notification whatsoever until I contacted them asking what the deal was. The most they've said is that My name and address details are invalid (Which they are not) - But have not replied to any further email I've sent them in two days.

So, I'll update this thread as (if) I hear more back from Everest, but as it stands, I suggest anyone playing there cashout and cross your fingers and refrain from signing up in the future.

Ryan.

Its fairly common practice to only allow one account from one place on an account.

I hope you manage to get it sorted out ok, keep us informed.

I can understand that, but they've banned all the accounts and one of them has a whopping $15 still on the balance, which judging by the email I've received from them, won't be getting paid out.

Code:
 Dear Player,

Thank you for your inquiry. Your account has been permanently blocked
by our Operations Department. There will be no further debits and/or
credits posted to your credit card or your preferred payment method and
thus no winnings will be paid out.

The name and address used is not acceptable.

http://www.kahnawake.com/gamingcommission/ File a complaint they are licensed by this gaming commision. Click on the link and then on complaints. Please let me know how it goes as I am very interested.
BTW you are correct that most likely your accounts got cancelled because of the same IP but I think, unless you all use the same PC, that a router would solve that problem for you.

Actually we do have a router here, and all the computers have their own LAN IP's but the external WAN IP is the same short of paying my ISP an additional $20 per month per extra IP (No thanks!).

They've budged a bit, they're willing to release the account to me but I have to jump through a few hoops to get it.

They want me to make a copy of my drivers license or passport, along with copies of front and back of my credit card (and i believe that's illegal, as I know storing a CVS number - on back of card - is not legal here).

They also want a photocopy of my credit card statement, and utility bills.

This all seems just a wweeeeeeeeee bit excessive considering the account balance on the one was only twelve dollars and I never once tried to make a withdrawl.

The main problem is that I myself do not have a drivers license, I rely solely on public transportation and manage to get along just fine. I do not have a passport - I do have a Canadian Health Card (with photo), but other than that, I don't have anything.

So it now looks like I would have to spend approximately $100 to get the kind of ID they want, then mail/scan&email/fax it to them.

Again, does this not seem excessive? I know having a license would make this a tad easier but I've made a point in not getting one over the years as I don't need it and why should I give the government free money for something I don't use?

Anyhow.... Not sure how to go about this it looks like I'll most likely be giving up on the account, just a little miffed about it.

Excessive!!! Are you kidding me? They are telling you, you don't get the money without telling you straight! I would still file a complaint. I wouldn't give anybody in my own family, ok that's not saying much, copies of both sides of my credit cards! No Way I jump through those hoops, and I have jumped through plenty of hoops

Maybe if I email them with what I've said here, explaining the circumstances and the fact that I believe copies of my credit card and statement are illegal.

If I have to send the committee a letter I suppose I will, but I agree, they're basically trying to steal my money it seems.

Anyone else with an opinion on this?

Just that I wanted to be able to play on their site again, and obviously after this I doubt I'll have that opportunity - They have great freeplay options, that twelve dollars I have in that account I made from nothing - no deposits, just the odd 10 player free tournament they offer where 1st place gets $2.75.

I then took that money and made out like a bandit at the .02/.04 NL tables :p

Allright, screw the money your right it's a matter of principle now.

Thanks for your advice,

miR

Sounds to me like there must be more to the story then this... I also play at Everest a bit. I know this site is for people outside the USA only. I for one have had no problems with them. As far as the multi-accounts from one household, to restrict accounts is common practice for alot of sites and some you can't even log 2 computers or accounts on at the same time from the same location. This you just have to live with. So what it comes down to they are asking for ID to prove who you are. And to prove your address etc. Again common practice to many sites before they will release money. Especially if there is a difference in what you have on record and maybe with what you have on say your neteller or whatever, if its all legit then again no problems. I have been asked to send a copy of photo ID such as drivers lisc or passport and a copy of a current bill to verify address. I have always sent and had no problems. Why they are asking for a CC I don't know, only when you have used a CC to deposit this info maybe requested. I read it as you are playing with *FREE* money you won, and have never made a deposit?? If that is the case you are lucky because most sites won't let you withdraw *free* money, with out some kind of prior deposit. I have money I have won in the site too, but havent made any deposits, I have no intentions of withdrawing a few $, will use it to continue to play there. I just don't want the site to get a bum rap, they are one of the few... actually the only that I have ever played at that gave out free real money for sit n go type tables, for people to build a bankroll for FREE. They have recently began MTT and are expanding all the time. All I want to say if it is all legit you should have no problems with them, they don't seem to be out to screw people out of FREE money.

Just my opinion

PS.. you say you had 3 accounts there? from same household ??All of them have money or not?

Yeah Mya there appears to be something we aren't being told like AGE! But anyways I was attempting to steer him in the right direction to attempt to get something done. Obviously he was getting nowhere with support. My main objective was to inform him and others that there is a possible alternate route when you feel wronged with an online gaming company. When you can't get anywhere with a casino in Vegas you go to the gamimg commision. This is what I am advocating.

It's not an age issue, I'm twenty six and as I said I have a birth certificate to back it up.

Anyhow, I'm hoping to hear more from everest.

These are all free accounts, no deposit has ever been made as I could not make a deposit with my paypal visa - I also never attempted to withdraw from the account.

It's just bum circumstance and me not realizing that they would shut everything down because of multiple accounts from the same originating IP.

I'll also clarify that I repeatedly state that I am definately a fan of this site, I played at it a solid 3-4 hours a day until this happened and would have continued to do so!

Then I would either send them ID and address info for all 3 people as proof they exist and live there and its not just 3 accounts you made to get more money off them. Then its up to them to decide, maybe they will let you keep one account active. I think we will hear back from them. GL with it.

Gee you are a swell guy! You must be an all knowing internet poker expert. From now on we will all try to not insult your intelligence by asking for help from someone when we have an issue with a poker site. Maybe you can find it in your heart to allow us mere mortals to share the same planet with you. Or you could pull your head out of your ass and try being respectful when someone who isn't an expert has a situation they want advice on!

Kind regards my ass. After all this time, this is what they come back to me with.

My complaint to the kahnawke gaming comission has gone unanswered thus far, I will be submitting it via registered mail.

Screw Everestpoker, this isn't legal.

About ID verification

Hi all,
The only thing I know for sure is regarding the ID issue, no gaming establishment needs your credit card info to verify who you are, i've been online gaming at either casinos or poker rooms for over 5yrs and have never had to submit a credit card in order to do a withdrawal.
They need proof of your age which could be a birth certificate
They need proof of address which could be a utility bill
Some require a photo ID which could be a passport (which has your sig too )
They do not need your signature or your credit card so you don't ever need to show anyone your credit card and I would strongly urge players not to copy/fax/email your credit card to anyone.
Good luck all :)

Sorry CubsWin, I think you are the one who needs to grow a brain, if you had one you would have realized that MiR lives in ONTARIO, CANADA and is VERY WELCOME to play at the site, but the problems he is encountering are NOT NEW. Anyone who plays at PokerHost knows that what Everest is asking for is a cakewalk compared to what the PokerHostNazis make you do.
Wasn't cubswin that posted that he was quick repling to a previous post... Your reply is in order though as you will see if you scroll down I agree with you. CUBSWIN didn;t post the lame comments though.

That's not the first Site that's it's happen.

Once at RoyalVegasPoker they ask me the same Information.

My Everest Poker Account is blocked too.

I give a fuxx about it.

We got 100's of Poker Rooms and Everest should think of that.

They got this one Customer and the Customer got 100's of Poker Rooms to choose.

Sorry for you that you have this problems but never ever send them all the stuff they are asking for.

PS: My complaint is unanswered since over 4 weeks ( Kahnawake )....
