Ultimate Bet Question

I used to be a big fan of the Ultimate Bet site. It was the first online poker site I played, so you could say it is where I learned to play and I have a fondness for it. I started making a little money there just before their big "upgrade" that got messed up.

Now when I play there, I just lose, lose, lose. I'd call myself a "break-even" player everywhere else, but not at Ultimate Bet. There's only 2 aspects that I could see so far that could be reasons for my failure there. 1) They've really cut down the time between player's turns and between entire hands. I like to think a little more during other players' turns without rushing. 2) The competition might really be that much better. Or could it be just a different type of player there.

(I won't mention the "R" word, but I've seen it talked about on the RGP newsgroup.)

My question is: Is there anyone here who plays at UB regularly who might have a little insight on the differences between it and other sites? (IE: Help me figure out why I fail there.)

I play there quite a bit. If your play low limit .10/.25 or lower there are tons and tons of fish out there that will beat you up. I've had numerous suck outs but, in the long run I still usually make a profit. I have noticed that a flop of the same suit happens a lot more on this site than some others. Other than that I haven't really noticed anything different just the player caliber on the low limits isn't very high compared to other sites.

Anybody else play at UB anymore?

Another thing I noticed is that the bonuses are not that good. That might mean more good players and less lame bonus whores. What do y'all think? Any other perspectives?

Ultimate Bet was the 2nd site I downloaded after partypoker (which I never play anymore) and I only deposited twice so I can't call myself a regular there. I do play the freerolls occasionally but was thinking of giving another go at some real money play. I don't like the "update" they did to it however. It seems a bit cheesier than it used to be.

I only play the free rolls there and haven't noticed any difference in the time given. I've been playing there for around 4-5 months and have around $22 in bonus $ that is VERY hard to unlock. Maybe someday I'll try if that bill doesn't pass...I place pretty often. . b/c of the number of people and the start times. Anway... The only major thing I see is that tournaments sometimes freeze up and get canceled. They're known for their BINGO! type of loose dealing, but it's not frequent or even noticeable enough to stop playing there. It's not like getting rivered out every big hand on Stars.

I play primarily on Ultimate Bet.. I love the software and the look of the tables.. It is true that they are a ridiculous amount of bad beats on the site but I think no more than any other site.. Only other site I play on is poker stars and they are so so.. I love the freerolls on Ultimate Bet though..Lot's of players and once you make it past the 1st hour or so you can actually play poker if you manage to dodge the all-iners every hand..
