Hi guys,
I have a big problem with my Stars account.

Today I recieved email from pokerstars that :
Hello,Due to your close association with the player '................ ', we have closed your account.
Please understand this policy is in place to protect the integrity of our games.
We apologize for any inconvenience caused.


What can I do please? It is account of my brother. We have never played in the same Tournament. Maybe problem is that we play from the same IP address. But not in the same tournament or in the same table, Never.
I send this information to pokerstars, but account is still closed
Do you think that they will open my account ?

Give explanations to PokerStars support and maybe they unlock your account. Unfortunately, I also had a similar problem, and even when I provided explanations and photo documents to confirm my identity, they did not unlock my account. Currently my akuten in poker stas is still blocked.

Nothing.
You can ask them to send you your balance and you might get it.
Did they ban your brother too?

You will need to get a new account and not register from the same IP address.
You may have to move to a new location....

No...they closed only my account.the account of my brother is open.
But it is not fair.we dont play in the same tournaments. Why they closed account?
I sent my documents (the copy of the ID) to them. Also my brother sent documents to them.
So I dont understand this situation

There is a possibility that you will lose your account. But it all depends on how convincingly you prove it and ask for it. Promise them that the brother will no longer play from your computer. If you have never played together in tournaments or on a cache at one table, then there is a probability of unlocking.They must request copies of your documents. And, of course, there will be a letter to your brother's email address to request documents.Read the terms of the PokerStars agreement where it's written about such cases.

I dont agree with this...
It is totally crazy. Because they can find that we have never played in the same table or in the same tournaments.
I wrote them 4 emails, but all the time the answer me that my account is closed and I cant play anymore.
I dont understand it. It is not fair. Because it is not cheating from me

If you and your brother are sharing the same IP address, it would be a good idea to contact PokerStars and explain your situation. They will give you an answer one way or another.

You need to ask them to get the answers.

Clearly you don't know what you are saying, I know of CC members that are married to each other and both have accounts at more than one site and they with the blessing of the sites can play from the same IP address, they even played the same CC games at the same time.

Even my missus and I have accounts at Stars from the same IP address.

As you've described the situation this is NOT cheating. Pokerstars does allow family members in the same household to have their own accounts. I'd suggest that you continue trying to explain the situation to them. The following is the Pokerstars official policy on this matter:

"Can family members also have an account

There is no problem if your family or friends would like to create a Stars Account with us. We welcome friends and family to join our community and play on our site. All they need to do is create a Stars Account with their real name and use their own email address.

BTW, my wife and I both have Pokerstars accounts. And yes, in case anybody is wondering, we do live together. I also have two cousins who live together in the same household and both regularly play the Sunday Storm at the same time from the same household. Members in the same household ARE allowed to play in the same MTT per Pokerstars policy below:

• Players who live in the same household, whatever their relationship, must not play at the same cash game table or in the same Sit & Go tournament.
• In some cases, this restriction will be imposed automatically by the game software.
• This restriction does not apply to scheduled Multi-Table Tournaments (MTTs) or 2-player heads-upmatches.

same thing happened to me because my gf uses the same IP and its a perma ban.

funny i should come across this today, though.. i just contacted them and said unban or get sued cuz guess what.. the stars group is in TORONTO now.. no longer unsueable on indian land or isle of no law

although they had no problem taking my money for two years while i played, it was only after i stopped spending money there that they perma banned me (and not just me, my entire family lol.. bunch of *****s)

if you read their ToS you'll see the ban is indefinite, irreversible, blah blah blah so just find another site to play on thats what i did

When you do contact them, send in your ID documents and get your brother to do the same from his email address, you need to prove that you are not the same person.

Well shit, I stand corrected.

However, I will say that I completely disagree with allowing more than 1 account per household.

But look. They can check that we didnt play in the same tournaments and in the same table.
So why it is problem? Why for example you dont agree with it.

I believe that pokerstars will completely check it snd they will reopen my account.
Because I am sure that there is no reason to close it.
