Royal Vegas Review

Royal Vegas
Summary
7.6/10
General Information: Royal Vegas is a Prima Network Skin, they share the same players. Royal Vegas is one of if not the largest Prima "skins". Royal Vegas Poker is an established, well-respected and trusted
online poker room. It is a member of the Fortune Lounge Group, one of the oldest and largest online casino groups. Licensed by Kahnawake Gaming Commision.
Detailed Review
Software and Graphics: The software just recently went through a pretty big change. I will happily call it an upgrade to the room navigation part. Much easier to sort through the games. The navigation, on the left of the lobby, is very close to the way
party poker has theirs. The overall graphics still need an upgrade but the navigation change was a very good idea! All relevant stats including flop percentages displayed. This is important, you need to keep your DirectX and java components upto date for their software to run properly. The software looks and is easier to use IMHO in the DirectX mode. The time given a player in ring games seems a little shorter than other rooms. Something that some people are concerned about is the "microgaming" registry value that spyware programs find and do not like. I have looked into it and this is of minimal concern, I will not say NO concern because that would be above my pay grade, as the file is not supposed to collect internet usage information. Microgaming has other files that are spyware/malware which will give you annoying pop-ups though these files do not appear to come with the poker programs. Deleteing the cookie and registry value does nothing except make you type in your login information everytime you login.
Score: 7/10
Freerolls: Run 2 daily no raked hand requirement. Run 4 100 raked hand
freerolls daily, good for getting a little money back if you had a losing night. They do run special freerolls quite often. The freerolls seem easier to place, than most other sites. Royal Vegas seems to run the largest freerolls independent of the other skins. The money you win is yours not bonus money.
Score: 8/10
Sit and Gos (SNG): Good selection of games, limits, and types. Several below $5 buy-ins. Most are in "turbo" format, I would like to see more lower buy-in non turbo SNG's. Not much wait time during peak hours even off peak hours aren't much of a problem to get a game. Buyin range from$ 0.75 upto $550
Score: 7/10
Competition: I have read elsewhere online that the Prima sites have very "juicy" or loose games. There are some loose games, but overall my experience is the players tend to play passively. You generally won't suffer as many bad starting
hands beating you, simply because most of the players don't play junk. So you can actually get away with many more bluffs and semi-bluffs as compared to other sites, these skills are actually necessary to be a winning player here in my opinion. The players are different than most other online rooms, a matter of opinion if they are actually better or not. Again this is from my personal experience other information available says they have some of the juicer games around.
Score: 6/10
Traffic: Good ring game traffic. The tournament traffic could be a little better but still adequate
Score: 6/10
Tournaments: My personal favorite place to play tournaments. They have good variety and the structure is good. This alone does not set them apart what does is the traffic. The tournaments don't have a huge number of entries usually just enough to have a good payout and a good chance to place. Sometimes a tournament will get canceled due to not enough entries, happens in the larger buy-in tourneys.
Score: 6/10 Just a few more players is all they need! Why average score? Most players like more players which means higher payouts.
Deposit: Minimum deposit $20. Credit Card, FirePay, Neteller, Citadell, and Click2Pay. They cover the transfer fees associated with the online wallets.
Score : 10/10
Withdraw: : Minimum $10. Cash out to credit card only against prior purchases made, remaining balance is paid out via various NETeller, FirePay, Prepaid ATM, etc, and check. Neteller withdraws hit in 24-48 hours if not faster, very good speed. Could not find how long it takes checks to reach you but probably 3 weeks or more.
Score: 9/10 Very Good Feel Secure have personally transferred money.
Promotions: Royal Vegas has very good promotions mostly freeroll related. With an average first deposit bonus. The famous $10 no deposit. They do email rakeback and reload bonus offers more often than other rooms. The intial deposit bonus is of average difficulty to clear.
Score: 8/10
Support: Live chat, phone and email. Good response times from email.
Score : 9/10
Conclusion:
Royal Vegas is an overall good poker room in my opinion. The software could use some work to the graphics kudos for the nav upgrade though! Tweaks to the SNG's and a few more tournament players would put them up there with the best. Probably the one main reason a lot of players would like to play here is the players don't "suck out" quite as often as other rooms. In my experience the players really were different than say Party Poker.
