Pokerstars has actually the worst software

What happens with pokerstars? no doubt that they are doing it worse and worse. After the last updates, i noticed a critical increase of CPU. i thought that this happened only in aurora graphic but this also happens in old interface. this is a real garbage, using more than 20% of cpu playing in only 1 table. in my case that only happens on pokerstars, the numbers are low playing in 888, ACR and even BOL where CPU usage is about 10-15%.

I guess, they are trying to make the software more recreational player friendly, and then they count of the fact, that computers are getting more and more powerfull each year. Its just like everything else really. Running Windows 10 on a 10 year old PC would also not be possible

yes, probably GGPoker is the worst. i played last year there and it was a bad experience, ok no money involved, but the software was terrible, it was a nightmare playing more than a table. but lately i heard some good feedback that i thought that they were improving their software but it seems that nothing has happens reading your comment.
without a doubt that Pokerstars and GG Poker is at the top... at the top of your CPU

I highly recommend cleaning the fan on your laptop cooler and replacing the cpu thermal compound if your laptops over heating. dropped my temps by 15 degrees while multi rooming. still hard load on cpu tho but that not an issue until 80 degrees temps on cpu. just clean monitor rinse and repeat.



Also try not to have so many browsers and other Apps open you would be surprised what closing chrome and all other programs your not using does to effect cpu load.

Sometimes I'm having some troubles with PS too. It's common for me to lose the first hand, while the HD light goes flashing and the table is frozen . I have an old PC, but didn't have this problem before.

My crappy old laptop will still play Stars, but will not allow 888 to even start up. Ipoker is another one that will just freeze & not start. I think its my graphics card to be honest.

But more than happy as Stars is my number one choice anyway.

I also noticed that poker stars have become noticeably heavier lately, but if it gets warm, then I join the advice about replacing thermal paste and cleaning the cooler from dust. Helps 100%.

Pokerstars software is not as good as it used to be but it has some features that are better that sites like 888 which are the use of multi table feature.

Sounds like you just want to rag on PokerStars which is fine and all because you can certainly find lots to complain about them on any given day.

It certainly does have a large system overhead now and I don't see any improvement over how it was 10 years ago. If you go to casino through the client you will notice the fan starts going, and leaving the casino doesn't stop it, only exiting the software works. Regular casino games not loading and chests as well. And this is happening on a decent spec laptop.

By the way I run Windows 10 fine on a 12 year old desktop that originally came with Vista.

My sisters CPU was overheating so I took it apart to check it out- the thermal past appled by the factory was spread on like a thick smear of cream cheese on a bagel! I cleaned it and reapplied and temps were down to normal

ugh the worst! too much is worse the too little and plus generic paste has a lifespan of like 3 years. Good brother now that you mention it i should probably do the same for my sister but she doesnt take care of her stuff anyways lol.

Yep, that's it. Aurora is awful. But PS rep won't change anything, for sure. They don't care whether we like it or not, they only need a good, nice-looking candy to entertain the players.

i have now a smartphone with 6gb ram (xiaomi redmi 9s) and the casino runs smoothly and opening chests are no more a problem. i think your hardware might be a bit old for aurora.

Absolutely not.

Pokerstars runs good for me, the avaliabilitty of games is huge and the guaranteed is okay.

The Aurora theme brough instability, but it is easy to be disabled.


The facility to make deposits, transfers and withdrawal makes it my favorite poker site.

I like some others, like partypoker, 8888Poker, GGpoker, but in a nutshell, PS is the best.

Seems you will. Even if you don't play PC games, online poker only, you need a modern PC or laptop just to play online poker. The software is getting more greedy every day so if you play, for ex., at several rooms, use a HUD program, and have another apps running in a time (the ones you need to be running), all that 'beautiful sweeties' and graphic effects can only slow your PC. Sad but true.

I have experienced a similar thing. The Aurora graphics engine can no longer be turned off, the machine has been slower since then, and fewer tables can be played smoothly. CPU usage is high.

I stop all other programs when I play. Browser, chat, social sites. So a little better, but nowhere near the old gameplay.

In my opinion, everything is in order at Pokerstars, I am satisfied after the update, there are no comments or I do not quite understand.

iPoker network (william hill Poker, RedStar or similar) has awful software too. All it takes is PC resources, especially internet connection. I have noticed many times that when you play at several poker rooms all other rooms are doing fine but William Hill is showing you the 'We try to establish connection' notification most of time you play. Really not sure which one is the worst, PokerStars or William Hill. But on PS, there is way much more players so this program literally eat all our PC's and laptops resources up, and do it the way it should not.
