PartyPoker Spins Overdrive - thoughts???

Hey, what’s everyone’s thoughts on the new style spin and go on partypoker? ‘Spins overdrive’. Because I’m downright confused.

I saw a post by them along the lines ‘you talked we listened spins overdrives are here to stay’. They’ve stopped the other spin and go games they had like ‘ultra’ which was 300 starting stack. And now just have this overdrive game where you have some car animation at the start for god knows what reason coz how long is that car going to drive for if you ever hit a jackpot is beyond me.

I used to like l the little 25c games, I’d regularly hit 75c/1.25c more often than 50c minimums. The highest I’ve had since the overdrives is 72c it’s all 300 starting stack unless you hit over 5x but party seem to have people telling them they are a winner.

Am I missing something?

Partypoker might be catering to a different audience, but it's frustrating for players who liked the old format :x that car for me always miss fuel

I have hit a few over $2 on the new 25c games but mostly they have been 50c. I don't really mind what the starting stack is as its usually all in or fold me anyway. I like when it hits a bit higher as most players at that level play tighter even though its only an extra 50/75c and you can just bully your way into a big lead by going all in every hand. Even if you get called by say AK you still have equity with any 2 live cards.

I have played around 400 games. Buy-in ranges range from 0.25 - 5.00$. The highest I have gotten is 5.02 x buy in.

It is a joke. Period. Most are under 3.00 x buy in.

The most annoying is when you get 2.98 and still only get 300 chips as I like to actually play them rather than use them as bingo there is more play in the hyper than you would think and it’s practice with short stack play for me, and that 0.02 would give me 200 extra chips to play with. I hit a 8 times the other day and won 20’tickets on the leaderboard which again is a Joke because their equation includes the amount of winnings so if someone manages to spin 5 3x+ games and wins 4 they will score higher than someone spinning 5 x 2x and wins all 5 of them which is a joke - the winnings should have nothing to do with the leaderboard..,

I am so glad I’m not alone on this. The whole thing from the car animation to the ridiculous denominations 2.98 etc are ridiculous and there is no way the chances to spin more than 3x are as high as they were before.

Also on a side note - anyone figured how to turn off the stupid applause when you win a hand on the App? Why is it only on the app too?

And killing the table when you get knocked out without giving you the chance to see what knocked you out? Still an issue for everyone ??

I just played a 10$ spin. It hit for almost 4 times. It was my first 1 out of 5 for the leaderboard. I won the spin. Then checked leaderboard, it only gave me 12 points. 1st place is at 160 and 5th is 140. How is that possible that I only get 12 points for 1st at 4 times? It should be a lot more. I have had a feeling the points system is funny business. I am contacting support. I will update.

I wish they would give you a rough rundown of how many points you get if you place 1-3rd at 2 or 3 times. Not some crazy calculation.

Also I’m above 1000 of them played. I have seen over 10x , it was a 14x once. My second highest is 8 times once and than 6 times once. Who is hitting all these big multiplyers?

Maybe look at the points distribution beforehand?

Winning 4 times is nothing . LB is running 24h in general

That's the point of giving the formula, it's completely transparent, there's nothing to "trust".

The calculation uses the amount won - which basically means you could win all 5 games that span 2x, then someone else could spin a 20x win that but lose their other 4 and get more points.

This is the formula. It’s so vague as to what counts - is it only the first 5 games? So basically it’s down to whether you spin a decent multiplier not on whether you play well and win. Its ridiculously unfair for a advertised skill ‘leaderboard’ because if its using the amount won to calculate the points those who only get min spins will never get on the board even if they win every single game they play, and some idiot who plays 1 time spins a miracle 50x and wins playing bingo sits at the top.

And I only realised this because I was the idiot. One day I found 25 25p tickets on my account when I barely played spins but the day before hit a 50 x and won it.

The amount won shouldn’t be anything to do with it, I think it should be a weekly leaderboard not daily - because I guess that’s why they’ve had to add such a random multiplier to the calculation because otherwise they’d have 100s of joint winners. So just make it over a longer period or more games.

Or just make it clear it’s not a real leaderboard it’s pot luck based on what you spin. Winning 5 in a row doesn’t even mean you’ll place.

You're right, it is table of who got luckiest hitting good multipliers and managed to win in those games (which is as much luck as skill in a single game). Do they actually advertise it as a 'skill' leaderboard though?

Best way to view it is as a bit of random rake back if you play at least 5 spins a day. I guess from Party's point of view they are trying to encourage you to play at least 5 games at the various stakes.

If I ran like I do on party poker in real life. I would never play poker. 5 or less outs hits 80-90% on river. Over and Over. Played 6 tournaments today. All 6, I lost to 5 outs on river. Either All in preflop or flop or turn, they all hit on me. I’m going to start screenshotting all hands. I need to know if anyone else runs this bad? These were multi player tournaments.

I also find when I get close to the money, I go card dead. Like a 2 or 3 in my hand every hand almost.
This also happens when I end up two handed in spin an gos. Everytime. Junk cards. I usually have to all in the player 2-3 times to win. They usually win first and second all ins and then I win third sometimes. With flips usually each time, or I’m ahead.

I apologize for the rant. I just need to know? I wish they had players to play an account, to see if the variance to set different on that account.

I have this one. Here is a gooder. My second all-in preflop in two days. I went all ins, but after I seen the flop. Only two preflop. This was the second day of the Sunday party two weeks ago, final table.

Just tried to post image, says file is too big. Anyways 7 people left. I am 6 in chips 8 bigs left, Utg raises min, I just flat with AK hoping for someone to raise again for my bounty. Big stack raises 9or 10x. Everyone folds, even I intail l raiser. Perfect, got myself isolated with Ak suited and he has AQ off suit. Perfect. Can I win one flip on the day, since I lost the first all in with KK vs A8 or A9 I think. Nope I loose Q hits I’m out 7th.

Hope fully I can post the picture and find the other all in too.

Played One $1.00 spin and go, I won. Ended up with 1.99 points. Totally wrong.

I have contacted support numerous times about the leaderboard and points. Something is definitely wrong with it. I know they really don’t care.

Maybe I’m just an unwanted player, I only have one spin and go over 10x in over 1000 games. My points are constantly out of whack. As soon as money hits my cards go bad. It takes me at least 3 all ins to win, even when I’m ahead or flipping.

Players don’t believe that it is that bad, so I have decided to record every game and post them. Just to show I’m not joking. Same shit happened on PokerStars years ago after I cashed out for 32 K.

I have watched other players spin and gos and I’m shocked at how they run sometimes. It never happens. For instance I haven’t seen AA or KK in the last week in any spin and gos, Mtts or cash. How is that even possible?
