Silver Level
Ok so I’ve been wanting to create this thread for a few months now - well from last September to be honest. Right about when partypoker introduced their ‘party cases’ promotion and basically ended their cashback scheme but didnt announce the changes to it, and left everything visually the same hoping noone noticed (which I didn’t for about a month and I’m betting not everyone has now)
It’s very reminiscent of when pokerstars revoked their loyalty scheme and starscoin and replaced it with the coffins of doom. The only difference being that PokerStars were upfront about it even though a lot of high stakes players then boycotted the site.
I cannot find what the actual cashback scheme was before September last year but I know the first reward was 50p and to get it you needed 2.5 points - and $1 rake was 1point so to get 2.5 points you’d need to stake $25 ish, The next level was £1 for 5 points etc this was credited to accounts on Sunday night/monday morning as cash you could withdraw or play however you chose.
The party cases introduced in September 2024 are awarded in a similar attainable/value to the old cashback scheme (for getting 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2 2.5 points you get a basic case - these are rarely worth more than 50c and quite often the prize is a freeroll ticket or 11/22/55c MTT or 25c spin ticket) - similar to the first level of the old cashback scheme - except that gave you cash you could use how you wanted without expiring and these tickets are for MTTs and expire in a few days. I’ll attach an image of the levels.
Now when they were first released the rewards were complete joke, and it was because of them I realised the cashback scheme had become ridiculous. The original prizes consisted of 11c, 22c specific MTT tickets (which would expire before there was a game). And they’d give 0.25 of a loyalty point or 0.5 of a point - which counted towards the cashback. Now 0.5 of a point is an ok prize if the first level is only 2.5 points - but imagine my horror when I realised the first level you can get is now $2 and to hit it you need 25 points. (25 points = £25 of rake paid which means £250 staked or 20 x $11 tourneys and a 5.50 tourney. Or 2 $109 games and a $55 game) - for a poxy £2 which I’m pretty sure you used to get for 10 points it might have even been 7.5.
Now that’s great for those who stake more but if you are like me a small stakes cash player, who used to regularly get £1.50-£2 cashback a week to now realising I’d have to stake 250 on 1c/2c cash to get any cashback at all - and instead getting 11c MTT tickets when I don’t play MTTs much lately so are useless to me it’s not so great. And those 0.25 loyalty point prizes are just a kick in the teeth because I’m not going to get to the 25 points anyway even with your 1/4 of a point. To me this was like a double slap in the face. So I made a number of posts on X twitter and wrote to their support - and it seems the beginning of the year the case prizes have gotten better they are just really inconsistent. The bronze case seems to be the best reward/level. There should some kind of progress/ value increase up the levels but it seems after bronze they all give the same rewards.
For example most of the time the bronze case will give me 55c ticket or 50p$ but I’ve also had $5 spin ticket and $50 cash. I’ve not gotten above bronze - but my hubby has and his best reward was $11 mtt ticket in bronze silver and gold boxes but yesterday his gold box had a 55c ticket in. Which is a bit of a joke really when you can get them in basic cases to get gold you need 20 points then 30 which is £200 staked and £300 staked which is a decent amount, (but you will get your gold box and still not earn your $2 cashback)
Anyway if you are still with me thank you! What id like to do is compile a list of what is available in each level - what have you won in the cases, Did you use the prize, and what do you think about them and the changes. I honestly think they need to implement a lower limit value for each level higher than the previous. Just so if you get gold you’ll get say a $3.30 min ticket for example. I will compile the list in this post from any replies to the thread - so let me know what you get in your cases
. I intend on giving party any feedback because they do actually listen sometimes! But maybe I’m the only one who is annoyed by the changes?
