Hi all. Great site
I was wondering if anyone here has had much experience with the various hold'em pc games on offer. I have been playing poker for a few years and have had varying success playing real money games. I know that a pc game will never be as good as the real thing but for some basic techniques I think a good pc simulation can help a beginner to learn from some mistakes without losing loads of money in the process.
So which is the most realistic pc poker game?. Stacked with Daniel Negreanu is great but on my pc the ai will sometimes, when in a heads up battle, get into a raising war where each player keeps re-raising the other,,again and again, like a broken record, plus the gameplay is quite slow, not like online play at all. The re-raising wars are obviously a bad bug and really put me off the rest of the game..so I have also got hold of "T.J Cloutiers World Class Poker" and "Tik's Texas Hold'em". Both seem pretty good for the beginner but to me Tik's seems to be closer to real play because the A.I is tougher to work out, and in TJ Cloutier (in medium difficulty mode at least) you can steamroll over just about any opponent once you have the chip lead. Which game shall I use to practice? And again, I know real play is the only real way to practice but I can only get online for a limited period each week so if I can also practice with a pc game I'd like to.
Thanks in advance for any advice.
