Last straw with Poker.com

I made the final table for their WPT event. There was a big screw up with it and I missed it. They gave me a coupon for their Aussie Millions. I checked last week and there was one more of these tourneys...but I had made other plans. I contacted live support and was told there was another one this Saturday. I tried, but there isn't one! I talked to live support again just now. I was told "you had the coupon since August, so you had plenty of time to use it". I told them, "whether I play it early on, or wait for the last one, is my buisness, and I was told I had one I could get into next week, which I can't". I got the "sorry, nothing we can do, should have played sooner". I told them to never mind, it will make a great discussion on the dozen or so Poker Forums I belong to. She told me that they would sue for defamation! LOL......I told her I was a Paralegal (which I really am) and that you can't sue for defamation if what the person said was true. IDIOTS!

I'm not discounting your statement because there is always an exception to everything but I've been very happy with poker.com. I've never deposited there and they have given me the best support.

Case 1 is where I found a small bug in pot limit hold 'em...they fixed the problem and sent me cash

Case 2 is where they sent me cash for a freeroll that scrwed up after I was already eliminated.

I do feel for you and in your case it sounds like they were wrong but I still have to give them a thumbs up :top:

I don't see what the problem is here. All sites have occasional problems and they did compensate you for the mistake. Surely you didn't have plans for over 3 months.

Erm...like Alon said, you had three months to redeem the coupon. Poker.com is not to blame for your procrastination. Sorry, but that's how I see it. Why wait until the last possible minute?

I had three months. Ok........how many of you have waited to register for a tournament just before it starts to begin? Maybe to see how many are actually in it? So, what happens when you wait to register for a tournament that reg ends at 10 p.m. and they decide, "oh well, lets start it early, they had an hour to register before.

My whole point is, when I want to enter it, I'll enter it. No one, Poker.com, nor any other player is going to tell me to enter it early. It's all because I was told I had one more week to play it.

The one part I left out was that I made the final table for a WPT seat. It was to played at a certain time. I, along with over 400 others registered and sat at the table when it was time. Before the tourney even started, there was a message pop up. "Due to technical difficulties the tournament has been postponed, your entry will be returned". That was it! I sat there for 20 minutes, couldn't get ahold of live support, as it was swamped. Next day, I get up, log on to my computer, check e mail. There is one from Poker.com , the tournament that was postponed, went on, five minutes after the cancellation. ?????? Apperantly they sent out an e mail immediately. I checked the results. Only 170 some people played. In another words, they screwed a lot of people out of that tourney. When I contacted support, I was given the run around. I had to fight like hell to get anything out of them. What I got was this coupon for the Aussie Tourney.

As I said it before and I'll say it again. Did I procrastinate? Sure. But why can't I? I can play when I want. Isn't that part of the allure of poker? I contact support, ask them to check my coupon, and am told I can play in one a week from now, he/she made a mistake and I'm to blame? Sorry folks, I don't see it that way. If I ever screwed up with a client like this, I'd be doing backflips to make up for my wrong doings, not try to blame the client.

Poker.com is #1 in my book

Same message as the others. Poker.com has been great with me. I sent them a suggestion for improving one of the e mail messages they send to people who withdraw. They thanked me, immediately implimented it, and entered me in a loyalist freeroll for which I had not qualified.They process withdrawals quickly and have always politely responded to any of my inquiries.

Sure, if there was a problem with your WPT event, then they should have compensated you, which they seemed to.

No one will disagree with you that if support told you that there would be another opportunity to use your Aussie coupon the following week and that wasn't true, then that's pretty bad support and they should rectify that too (I hope you got something in writing from them?).

So for sure, this site and their support seem to have issues. No doubt.

But on the matter of responsibility, some rests with you. When you wait until the very last minute, that's what you risk. Sometimes I wait until just before a tourney begins, and sometimes I miss it as a result, and when I do I kick myself...

If I were in your shoes, I would be unimpressed with Poker.com, but I would be kicking myself too.

Beriac; I am kicking myself, but not for waiting for the last tourney to play in. I still believe and always will, that I should have had that choice. I just got the wrong information. Rather I'm kicking myself for not getting an email of the previous live support chat. I can't remember if Poker.com had that option or not, but any support I get from now on, I'll get the email sent to me so I have something to back me up. It's over now, I cashed out of Poker.com and won't be back.
