I don't know about 888, since I don't play on there - but I agree regarding PokerStars being stingy.

There was a time when Scholars Leader Board was a thing. There were freerolls for tickets and tournaments for $0.55 I believe.

I thought it would remain permanent, as it's a great way to start and experience serious play in low stakes.

Maybe it's still on-going, perhaps it's a regional thing.

And of course the removal of community freerolls.

I wouldn't be surprised if the daily wheel gets removed and the chests become worthless to get. 😔

I just monitor pokerstars and they are giving out a lot less now for sure. I always assume I am no better than my opponents so if I play anything the promotional equity has to more than cover the rake. With this approach I used to make over a thousand dollars a year on there for many years and now I basically never play anything on there other than spin the stupid wheel once a day. Of course when they dropped the cardschat freerolls this really caused a drop in my pokerstars earnings.

I will always love pokerstars, but I agree they have gone stingy. I used to love their freerolls they used to do, they had stud, razz, Omaha, 2-7 and of course TH, they were the day's, I got to learn a lot of formats, how I miss that 😢

I noticed this a long time ago. It became especially noticeable to me when PokerStars stopped holding our CardsChat freerolls.

They have micro stakes games. Maybe if some of you actually played in them the site would offer you up more free stuff.

Why should they offer up any free games? If it doesn't bring in players who will deposit and play 'real money' buyin games then why would they waste that money? Would seem like a poor business decision imo.

They do not offer this for every player.
This depends on the legislation where PokerStars offers its services.
For Germans, there is no such thing. So Nada for Germans.

Back to the original Question:

All major brands that are allowed to operate legally in germany have made changes in their business model depending on cost and reward.
If it is PokerStars, GG-Poker, 888 Poker, and partypoker and their legal operating skins,
they all changed number of freerolls available, prize pools in those freerolls and so on.

Obviously, we will not see such cool promotions as we used to. Everything that is free is already a thing of the past, even freerolls. Poker companies are cutting costs, and this process will only progress.

PokerStars satellites have become more brazen lately, asking for more money reby etc For example, for a poor player to now enter the Sunday Million, you need more money
Previously, 22 cents was enough and if you were lucky, you would get an 11 dollar ticket..Now, a $5.50 ticket sometimes costs a lot more money to get.,and the number of guaranteed seats in satellites has also decreased

There's less money in the game than there was a few years ago so promotions are being cut.

There's still some sites that provide good rakeback but getting something for free is less and less common. Other than the Cardschats community games which provide amazing value I usually just play my cash games and an MTT or two don't bother jumping through hoops for unimpressive promotions.

Unfortunately GG is a sign most people who play don't care, they are the biggest site with the least transparent rakeback system in the industry and some of your returned value comes from mandatory all in tournaments which require no skill at all...

I'm new to 888poker, but I agree with your opinion about Pokerstar. I remember that about 7 years ago there were free daily tournaments with good prizes and not so many players. Even the tournaments were much better than the $0.55 ones.
In addition, the value tournaments had higher prizes, now the prizes are much lower.

Yes, times are that I rrally can't recommend any pokersites that are hot to trot. Miss the full tilt poker days for sure. Black Friday ended the gravy days.

The best freerolls for now are in Partypoker and 888. But the 888 poker wheel is kind of a joke. I only win the daily freeroll ticket. And is a super turbo bingo game. I already won some cents there, but it's not the kind of game I like to play.
