I'm a recreational player, but when I have a day off I try my luck, not my skills 😀 the first hour is full of madness. Sometimes I'm the craziest.
When you have a whole day to do it, do you take each freeroll one at a time or do you pick something you think you have more chances at and what would those be and what criteria do you select them by?
Thank you very much for the opinions and explanations!

When I started, I used to play every freeroll I could. Now I still like the fenómeno freebuy. If you don't have at least for the rebuy and the add on, its hard, but still it worth a try.
Edit: my criteria is that it has a better tickets/entries ratio

Know that after a few attempts I sometimes succeed first in this, the problem is the target tournament where I underestimate the opponents a bit, and sometimes I play a lot of hands that I shouldn't..,🤔.
And thank you!

I was able to play it once or twice. I turned it into +$300 so, I always recommend it

There are still freerolls at pokerstars? No i dont try those longshot-satellites. Waste of time.
Thank you very much for the answer 😍. As a recreational player myself, and always having to make deposits on sites do you think I should go in headfirst and with my cards on the table?
Can you suggest an alternative?

I play very little on pokerstars these days but I will have a try at the community freeroll on Sunday and see if I can win some of those power path tickets that I value very little because I am sick of that power path thing

I dont really understand the question sorry.

But if u want to play anything for free with any "real" value then u should probably switch sites since on pokerstars there are no valuable freerolls anymore.

Acr offers freerolls every 3 hours and they are perfect for recrationals and beginners who dont want to spend or try out the game a bit.

I mentioned PokerStars because I've had an account for many years I don't want to undermine replay poker where I'm happy to join you and where I know I haven't withdrawn and maybe it won't be soon, but I always go in with pleasure.

I'm sorry that for me Acr was never available, just like many others

I am mainly hunting for tickets to 888 poker, for 55 and 109 dollars, 3 tournaments a day.

Well sounds like you answered your own question....
if your intention is to play PS freerolls pick the better structured ones to focus on,
don't "underestimate the opponents a bit, and sometimes I play a lot of hands that I shouldn't",
don't be one of the "craziest", not that I'm opposed to go big or go home with a sweet hand in a good spot,
I played on PS a little way back when we could play there, cash games and private tourney buyins
were where it was at for me but who knows how it is now, to each their own👍

Hi :)
I prefer freerolls with cash prizes. Unfortunately, I don't have enough time to play in satellite freerolls. Therefore, the main criterion for me when choosing freerolls is the size of the prize pool and the number of prize places :)

I rarely play freerolls. Licensed sites are not allowed to offer them in sweden, and most of them are not worth my time either. The last freeroll, I played, is still running right now on ACR Poker. There were at least 500 entrants competing for $50 with less than $10 for the winner. I only entered it, because I was winding down my session, I only had 3 tables running, and SnGs had kind of stopped running. So I was like "ok whatever why not", but if I had been able to get into any sort of regular game instead, I would not have bothered with the freeroll.

Honestly I think if you spent 25% of the time you're willing to spend on those Pokerstars satellite freerolls and used that time for constructive, effective studying you won't need to deposit as often 'or' maybe never again (unless you're depositing to a new site or for a deposit bonus, or for a special game you wouldn't normally be playing)

Moreover even if OP "always has to make deposits", they must be very tiny. Because in 14 years he has invested less than $400 in regular games on PokerStars. So even if he never cashed in either regular games or freerolls, which is almost impossible to imagine, the most, he can possibly have lost, is $30 per year. Of course its fine to play recreationally, but considering the time invested, maybe it would be better to spend a bit more and then be able to play higher quality games. Or as you say study and try to become a winning player. Its not like, it require some amazing talent to beat the low end of the micros ;)

Thank you very much dear colleagues. I can say that I have only been playing poker for a year, so I am a beginner, I started in my youth and only now have I rediscovered this passion of mine, after more than ten years of being away from all things poker.
Thank you very much and I'm glad I found this forum.

normally do 1 freeroll a day (888 atm) and maybe 2 if I get knocked out of one early but recently I've been playing a lot less. first hour I'm more reserved because it's usually chaos as you said and if I'm still alive then will try play for a spot ITM

There is some interesting freebuys at PS, that leads to higher satellites and target tournaments such as SM and Fenomeno (mentioned above), Bounty Builder HR and Sunday High Roller that also have 25 seats guaranteed to next level. I play them every day and weekends for sure. Dont be crazy and play them normally as you would play with your good cards. Sooner or later you'll understand how to play those freebuys correctly to get a seat. Good luck :)
