WSOP amends the rules for devices, etc. for the upcoming 2024 WSOP Paradise Event

The wsop has new rules regarding electronic assistance and coaching in the tournament room directed at players and spectators. Spectators and players are no longer allowed to use electronic devices and Apps while they're in the area of live play. Also included is no live coaching from anyone on rail or other spectators.

By the way, this event will start on the 6th of December 2024.

The rule change comes days before the WSOP Paradise series begins.

Good change.

You shouldn’t be getting live coaching while in a tournament.

This removes all ambiguity so what happened at the last WSOP will not happen again (and if it does - they can action it).

I agree with the rules because it’s unfair to have assistance when you are in a game. I know people online use some kind of chart’s or something to help them. This is why I think live games are safer than online.

This is a good rule overall. Not 100% in agrence with the new rule that's ok. Have real time steams or technical information is good to be stopped. Over the years you hear the anounsers say well he will know if he was correct in about 1/2 hour. WTF, we should no be seeing or knowing the results until after we play. After all who is getting this advantage, the profession players. As for talking to someone about a hand afterword, I don't know if that's necessary or asking a coach for advice but its OK as a rule.

I'm glad it's so official! But it didn't turn into agreements that can sometimes be broken... Since this is a sport, everyone should have the same conditions!

In my opinion, this rule change was long overdue and pleased the WSOP governing body took the rail coaching/laptop dilemma seriously. I'm sure there will be amendments to this rule in the coming months leading up to the 2025 WSOP. 🤞

I think it should have been done a long time ago. I am always surprised when I see how players freely use smartphones during the game at offline tournaments. It is the same as allowing students to use smartphones during exams.

Even better idea: make it retroactive and disqualify/revoke the WSOP 2024 "champion"'s winnings or least title and give it to the runner up.

I agree with you . And ban the spectators that helped the 'champ' cheat from all WSOP properties as well .
