Pokerstars without cardchat tournaments became dull, gone were the days when it was wonderful to log into pokerstars, today there is no more pleasure.

I shall definitely be taking part - will keep a running log of how i fare with a schedule of events i intend to play - currently just looking at values.
Good luck to players also taking part, it would be great if CC members did well here.

I have just checked the schedule - there are several good value $5.50 and $11 tourneys on there with some attractive looking progressive knockout tournaments which are definitely my bag.
I will be playing across $5.50/$11 and $22 tourneys first up - any half decent scores i make will be reinvested in the odd $55 or $109.

They were cancelled due to a business decision. Most likely PokerStars found, they did not generate enough extra traffic in regular games. And since there are currently also not CC freerolls on GG Poker or WTP Global, Pokerstars are not alone in deciding to spend their marketing budget in different ways. Its all the 3 largest operators, which should perhaps be reason for some self reflection on behalf of the CC community? Also as said already do you not find a major online series like WCOOP more exciting than freerolls? If "no" then this further highlight, why the freerolls were cancelled ;)

When there were cardschat freerolls on pokerstars you could enter and play a tourney stress free with "house-money". And who needs more stress in ones life? Not me. I am glad I can still get my daily poker fix stress free on replay.

Enjoyment wise - nothing beats our own CC freerolls on replay for me personally, however - i still love Stars and enjoy playing games on there, I've managed to get past the greed they display as an operator where i feel they give little back to the player (again personal opinion).

I follow Stars on twitch and you tube and enjoy their coverage of major events - with WCOOP being a favourite.

Might be an unpopular opinion, but I actually think, its a bad idea, that CC host games on a pure play money site. Its a lot of work for the people running CC, and also for those winning in the games, that prices have to be paid out manually. And once those $10 or whatever have been transferred manually to the winner, chances are, they are used for general consumption and not to build up a poker bankroll. Which for me should be one of the main purposes of freerolls.

Moreover if people want to play in these Replay games, they can not have other real money games running at the same time without simultaneously opening another poker client. Whereas if they were held in the play money section of a real money site, then at least some members would be able to simultaneously play real money games on the same site using the same software.

So for me the absolute number one would be to go back to freerolls or other community games on real money sites, where prices are paid out automatically by the site. Number two would be games run in the play money section on a site, that also offer real money games. And the current solution with Replay Poker is the absolute worst, CC could possibly have come up with.

Your logic is sound and it will get a like from me - my decision is purely personal preference.

Of course I think, we should all be greatfull for, whatever is offered to us for free. And if we dont want to play for whatever reason, then we are free to not play. Which is the decision, I have personally made, when it comes to Replay Poker and the CC games there. But even so I do think, its fair to point out, that the main affiliate of CC is currently a play money site.

Is this really, where the largest poker forum sees itself in the future? As a promotor of a play money poker site? I know, there are historic reasons, why we ended up with the games on Replay Poker, and the decisions, which led us there, were not entirely made by CC. But I still hope, its not seen as a permanent solution, and that thoughts are being put into, how CC can move forward from here :)

Have to disagree on that one.

- payouts on real money pokersites can also be withdrawn and used for personal consumption. Yes it should be used as a bankroll boost but in the end people do whatever they want. And if u read the forum there are a lot of "riggies" who can't wait to cashout as soon as they won a few dollars.

- replay is a very light web client and it's no problem to have it open on the side while playing on other sites. Its not even a software, more like a website.

- I basically checked every site possible and there are no sites left where most cardschatters would be able to play together. The sites where most would be able to play are all unregulated and therefore not possible. A play money site is actually the ideal solution because there are zero restrictions regarding locations. U could even play from the moon if u get internet there 😉

- payouts do suck on replay with only 5 places paid in daily games. Many players just push all in at the beginning (me most of the time too). So there is definitely room for improvements regarding payouts.

-I agree with u it's maybe not ideal but it's far from the worst possible solution. Basically there is no other solution then a play money site if u want to make those games available to the whole community.

There are no restrictions on the play money sections on any sites, so everyone can play at for instance PokerStars play money tables. Which would clearly be a less bad solution than Replay Poker. I dont think, anyone in their right mind can argue, that Replay Poker has better software than PokerStars. Or it could be the play money section of any site.

The "US and friends" games were partially held on PokerStars play money tables, and it was only, when they became open to everyone, that they were moved entirely to Replay Poker. I dont know, why this decision was taken. Maybe to simplify things, or maybe because CC was a bit pissed at PokerStars for cancelling the freerolls, that ran on real money tables.

I also honestly think unregulated sites are a less bad option. CC chose to no longer cooperate with those alledgedly in preparation for entering the regulated US market. But so far after years nothing has happened with the regulated US market, and there are no CC games on those legal US sites, that already excist. So maybe even that decision could be reconsidered, although I obviously dont know, what exactly was behind it.
- payouts on real money pokersites can also be withdrawn and used for personal consumption.
Yes but then you have to make an active decision to do so, and there might be a minimum withdrawal amount. If someone win $10 in a CC game on any play money platform, they have to actively decide to deposit it to a real money site. And how high is the chance, this ever happen? I know for sure, I would not bother depositing such a small amount anywhere. So it just becomes pocket money instead of a boost to peoples bankrolls.

Agree with all of it but CC does have freerolls on WPTglobal. They're running again and are going every single day. Payouts are also better than previous ones.

Ok thats cool. I did not know that, since the freeroll schedule at top of the forum only mention games on 888 Poker and partypoker :)
