Chris Moneymaker and Erik Seidel are running well in tournament poker in 2024

Over the past year, Chris Moneymaker has been on some tear when it comes to cashing and winning poker tournaments over the past year. Recently, Chris won his second tournament of 2024 with the Enjoy Poker Tour at the Enjoy Punta del Este Casino in Uruguay and took home $179,770. The first tournament won was in May with the Triton Super High Roller Series in Montenegro bringing in a first-place prize of $903,000.00. This year, Chris has final tabled four times and has lifetime earnings of more than $7.5 million.

And then there is the Poker Hall of Famer Erik Seidel. Erik has won his third tournament of the year at the Seminole Hard Rock Open adding $179,953 to his lifetime earnings of over $46.9 million. Currently, he is boasting a whopping 23 cashes for 2024.

Nice to see Moneymaker around again, not least because he has the coolest last name ever for a poker player! I was around when he won the wsop.

It must be difficult to know what to do or where to go from there.

Some will blow it all on high roller events or cash games, thinking they're better than they actually are.

Some might use the money as a means to quit their job and put a lot of time into study and improving, actually becoming a player more worthy of the title of WSOP main event champion. Coaches, courses etc

Some might ride off into the sunset altogether, bank the big win and disappear.

After a big win like that it must be difficult. Lots of people in your ear wanting you to endorse this, that or the other, sponsorships etc. Different people advising you on what to do next, maybe some people acting in bad faith because they know you've just cashed for a large amount and seeing if they can get some of that money from you. Invest in my business, lend me some cash etc.
