Benjamin Rolle was put in the eye of the storm for a sexist comment.

According to Pokernews the well know poker player and the founder of Raise Your Edge training site had made a sexist comment on Instagram in last June.

Someone had asked him if men have an advantage over women in poker.

Without thinking two steps ahead Rolle had reportedly answered:

"Anyone arguing that men have no advantage in poker is simply delusional. Why are there barely any women in the top 100 all time money list?"
Then he had continued by saying "Men are simply more competitive."

All of this didn't track much attention until now when Rolle was appointed as a CoinPoker ambassador.

Poker player Vanessa Kade commented the news in X by expressing that choosing Rolle was a "disappointing hire".
She also pointed out sexism that goes around in the poker world.

Poker Vlogger Ryan Depaulo stepped in to defend his bro, and things got even uglier.

We are all competitive in the world of poker, although we see many men in the world top but we can also see women who are competing to win everyone.

Not everyone wants to admit that, in statistical and historical terms, and purely from the point of view of numbers, it's easier for men to engage in activities such as poker, chess, anything like that. Numbers prove that (like Ben said). He did not say anything inherently against women at all.

Women are conquering their space little by little, but talking from a world history perspective, feminine participation in several activities is quite recent. In his point of view, it is because it`s more common that men are attracted to pursue a poker career and its uncertainty.

Rolle and especially Kade should just both shut up and wow finally a logic take from Carrel 😯 (no one really asked for).

My take: a lot of pokerplayers have way too much free time, they spent this time on X arguing and feel like their opinion is way more important then it actually is.

Maybe it's some kind of language barrier, but I really can't see anything but facts and maybe an unpopular opinion here(I'm Romanian and from what I know BenCB is German- I'm not a fan, but I'm subscribed to his YouTube channel and I've also watched some of his pretty popular Twitch streams- he is one of the best online mtt players...); for sure "overt sexist" seems a bit too much...

PS. I've checked on hendonmob and unfortunately there's no woman in the Top100 All Time Money List... for sure there are lots of great women poker players(we can see it here on our CC community too ) and I'm very happy that things change in the right direction and it's more fair and inclusive, still let's not be too sensitive and look for 'fire' everywhere...

I would've given him the benefit of the doubt cause english is not his first language, but him using terms like "snowflakes" and "karens" out of nowhere makes me think he's not starting a discussion out of good faith.

Vanessa is also wrong for calling for him to get blacklisted.
