Hello Chatters!
I have been using Neteller for years with no problem at all. Lately, Winning poker network decided to stop doing buiseness with them and instead choose ecoPayz.
Some years ago I opened a Black Chip Poker account, because I was not permitted to do so with ACR, in order to participate in our events in ACR/BCP.
Lately it became possible and I decided to open an ACR account and stop playing via the BCP skin, because I was one of the first to participate in the ACR Stormers and couldn't benefit from it anything through BCP.
That is when all the trouble started...
I couldn't transfer funds directly between my two accounts - as I could back in the days between FullTilt and Pokerstars - and had to withdraw to some e-wallet.
I opened an account with ecoPayz and withdrew the funds from BCP to it. Thus far all was well. Then I received this e-mail:
Thank you for contacting the ecoPayz Team!
We are writing with regard to your ecoAccount. Your ecoAccount contains some information we need to clarify. We regret to inform that you will not be able to use your ecoAccount to deposit and transfer funds until this information has been clarified. It is the ecoPayz’s Privacy Policy to verify the information provided by our customers to ensure that accounts are not opened containing incorrect or inconsistent information for any reason, as this would violate our terms of regulations.
We need to confirm your identity and make sure your ecoAccount is secure by asking you to send a good quality photo of yourself holding your valid identity document and a handwritten note with the current date and "For ecoPayz" written on it. Please make sure that the lighting is good and the camera is clearly focused.
Also, we are unable to accept the copy of your address proof document as it is outdated (older than 3 months).
Could you please send us your most recent copy of a Utility Bill, Bank Statement or a Certificate of Residence – displaying your name and address and dated within the last three months? Downloaded bills and statements in PDF format are accepted.
I complied and although the selfie idea seemed extremely ridiculous to me I made one and attached it to my reply, along with a recent utillity bill. Mind you that I already had provided a high resolution scan of my identity card. After a while I received this:
We are writing this email to confirm that we have received your documents.
However, we are unable to accept the copy of your identity verification photo due to lack of clarity and quality.
Could you please resend the document in higher resolution ensuring all the details are clear and legible?
I was like "Whaaaat???" and replied that:
Merry Christmas.
I really hope that you are just extremely typical and not somehow making fun of me.
I sent a scan of my identity card in high resolution, so you can confirm my every detail from that. The photo you requested, no matter how original that request was, was to verify that it's a real person holding that id-card and doing that for your company, hence the handwriten note, right? Are you expecting to be able to read the details on the id-card via the photo?
I am sorry to inform you that my phone camera resolution is just that. Can't make a higher resolution photo, sorry!
I have accounts in a couple other e-wallet companies, no one gave me that much of a hard time.
Anyway, if you are still unhappy with my documents, please transfer my funds to my ACR account and close the account.
Cheers.
Several days passed without an answer. I began to wonder if they are a serious company or not. Almost a week later I wrote to them again the following:
Hello.
Have you still not reached a conclusion about my identity?
It has been almost a week since our last correspondence. I still await for your decision!
I am a very dissatisfied customer at the time. I created an account with your label in order to withdraw funds from my Black Chip Poker account. At that point no problem with my identification was pointed out, mind you. I did and after the money was in your custody, you let me know that my account is not complete. I have sent all the documents you requested, including the moronic id/note selfie! From the high resolution scan of my id-card you probably already know that I am an older man, not a teenager keen to that kind of behaviour. In other words that was indeed my first selfie ever! After that I received an e-mail from you stating that the details of my id-card are not legible on the photo! Are you serious? That was six days ago and although I replied, I never got an answer from you.
To conclude: If your company is a legitimate financial services one and you are not plotting to just keep my fifty bucks, either complete my account verification so that we can conduct buiseness together, or just throw the money into my Americas Card Room poker account, under the same e-mail and close my account with you. Please do so within the next 3 days.
If none of the above actions is taken, I will conclude that your company is just a fraud trying to scam me and I will consider my further actions.
Sincerely,
Today, six days later i received this:
Thank you for contacting the ecoPayz Team!
We would like to inform you that your last payout from a merchant has been transferred back to them and that your ecoAccount has been permanently closed in accordance with the PSI-Pay Terms of Use.
Unfortunately, we will not be able to accept any further applications from you in the future.
OK, not really nice doing buiseness with you, bye!
Alas, I opened in turn both accounts and the funds are nowhere to be found. On top of that, live chat is out of order for both skins, so I just e-mailed ecoPayz back asking for clarification.
What do you people think? Is this a legit company or a scham? Are my fifty bucks lost forever? What should I do?
