You have to send it from Circle to a wallet(BlockChain) then to a pokersite. If you send it directly from Circle or Coinbase to a pokersite you will get your account frozen and removed.

Why would anyone bother with putting real money into pretend money, who will you go to if whoever decides to not honour it.

It's not illegal to use bitcoins. Sites like coinbase and circle don't want to be associated with gambling because they don't want the government to crack down on them for being connected with online gambling. Just take the extra step that I mentioned above by using blockchain in between deposits and withdrawls and you will be fine.

Deposit on Circle------ Transfer bitcoins over to your block chain account--------- Deposit on pokersite

Withdraw money from poker site to your block chain account------------------ transfer bitcoins to circle-------------- transfer bitcoins into your bank account which will be made into $$$.

It's not pretend money, it holds real value. Every pokersite that accepts American players offers bitcoin as a deposit option now. It is the fastest and best way to deposit and withdraw money for American poker players. If the government didn't pressure banks to not accept online gambling transactions we wouldn't have to resort to using a deposit method like bitcoin which is great anyway.

:dontknow:

Who will go to use US dollars if people decide to not honour it ?

When a commodity (like salt, furs, diamonds, gold, etc.) becomes "money" ?

What are the main functions of money ? What are the main properties of money ?

BitCoin became a currency, because a lot of people TRUST in it. TRUST is the basic factor that decides what is money and what is not.

A commodity becomes money, when: 1. it is relatively scarce and thus expensive, 2. it is difficult to counterfeit, 3. it does not spoil over long enough period of time.

The main properties of money: it is used as a means of exchange, it is used to store value in time, and it is used to accumulate wealth.

BitCoin is even better than US dollar, because its supply is fixed !!! /governments or central banks may decide to print more money, which triggers inflation and big crises.
BitCoin supply is fixed. BitCoins cannot increase to more than the encoded total number.

BitCoins are expensive, impossible to counterfeit, they do not spoil over time, and they have the trust of the users.
BitCoins can be used as means of exchange, they can store value in time and they can serve to accumulate wealth.

So, they have all traits and functions of a normal currency.

Declined by Circle

I opened a Circle account, within the past week. I received an email notifying me that it would take 3-5 business days to verify my account and allow me to do business. The very next day, I receive another email asking me 5 questions as to 'why' I wished to open a Circle account. I answered these questions (that I thought were BS btw) with very legitimate answers. Today, I received this email:

"We have carefully reviewed the information you provided us and unfortunately we will not be able to offer you service. We cannot go into specific details about what led us to our decision. Thank you for understanding."

How do they know who I am and what my intentions of use are? Anyone else received an email like this?

bump: coinbase -> ACR

Wondering if anything's changed with Coinbase and gambling sites.

I've done at least a dozen deposits from Coinbase to ACR over the past 18 months with no problems.

Have yet to try a coinbase withdrawal though.

Are withdrawals more likely to be flagged?

Why are you trying to get your Coinbase account closed? They are a financial institution subject to U.S. banking laws. Sending/receiving funds to/from gambling sites is prohibited. Many have had their accounts closed for this behavior. Just get yourself a personal (buffer) wallet.
