In large part I think the answer to this question depends on what you want to get out of poker.

I try and use my poker bankroll in a way that can lead to more profit potential in the future. This would be a mix buying educational content such as courses or a site membership as well as rolling over winnings so I have the bankroll to play in higher buy in games hopefully leading to more profits and a higher hourly in the future.

However I don't see anything wrong with taking profits and using them in real life if that's what you got into poker for.

Withdraw it all the time, so that you don't lose everything in one day.

If you are going to move to a higher limit, then if your bankroll is more than 30 buy-ins for cash games, then withdraw everything that is more than this amount. And if you are not going to go up to a higher limit just yet, then you can leave 30 buy-ins of the current limit, and withdraw the rest and use it to buy poker software or pay for a coach to sort out your hand history database and point out how to improve the game...

What is the best option for beginners...
this is beyond a little open...lots of people will feel scared to withdraw for fear of losing a hot streak or superstitions belief....wont get dealt same cards go into a loss series etc...but its bigger all of it...define some things why are you playing? what are your rules and goals? this is the start but goes way beyond that...So each person has to make own decisions....I dont like to keep more then 200 on any site cause over the years have watched too many fold up where took some very bad loss hits when they disappeared....that is first issue for me....i dont like to withdraw anything under 400 but have done 100 on sites i dont fully trust....shit even legal ones had trouble withdrawing etc...so is that factor

Deixo um saldo pré-determinado. Tiro tudo do topo disso.

Your point of view is very good... 😉

What is the best option for beginners...
I know for sure that the best option is to withdraw money regularly. Thanks to regular withdrawals, the player will begin to have a very necessary understanding that poker is a serious game that allows you to have a regular income, and this understanding will definitely have a positive effect on his game, his patience and his discipline.

I would not withdraw any money away from your poker bankroll unless you can't play the same way with bigger bankroll as you did with smaller one

Biggest mistake I did as a beginner was to withdraw money and use on real life, which just slowed my poker progression and kept me down!

I would be better than Negreanu if I never had withdrawn!

I rarely withdraw from poker sites, Mainly because I don't play for huge Buy-ins, I am happy playing freerolls and Micro stake games and every win is just added to my bankroll, I suppose I am lucky in that I don't desperately need the extra money, and Money I make from playing Live games is more than enough for me.
To me any money won on-line is Virtual money and not real, if I should lose everything in my Bankroll it still hasn't cost me anything, because I have never made a deposit. Playing on-line Poker is just for Fun, but don't make the mistake that I don't take it seriously, I play every game as if was a World Series and it means a lot to me when I win, but the money is nothing compared to the feeling of achievement I get from being top of the Game table and last man standing.

Depends on comfort level, how much you trust the site and stake level you play. I like to challenge myself and go from say something like $50-$5k+. I also sometimes have something come up in real life. Example: Maybe I only own 4k left on my car or other debt and have $4500. on the poker site. I withdraw the 4k and pay off the car/debt. Or maybe the wife wants to go on a spar of the moment trip/vacation. Boom withdraw some poker winnings to cover it.

Cheers!!!

At the beginning, it's a good idea to always maintain your bankroll, if you need to make a withdrawal, only remove 40% of your bankroll and leave the rest for you to continue playing and increasing your balance, you can also set a goal, for example: your goal is to reach 100 dollars and whatever you earn above that you can withdraw more while always keeping the 100 bankroll, it is also a good option to be able to withdraw and continue with bankroll

I like this.

This.
If you are going to move to a higher limit

Bigger bankroll does let you move to a higher limit.

But in general - you will never regret cashing out some money.

Buy yourself-children-spouse something nice or necessary. Maybe something you can hold in your hands.

I have a friend who had a very good year. She chose to use part of her bankroll and take her two sons to Disneyland.

She told me that she was going to buy her boys, ages 14 and 10, anything they wanted. But she wasn't going to tell them before the trip. :giggle: Her husband had to stay home to work so it was just her and the boys.

She said they had an amazing time together.

It all starts with good planning. After that, learn how working capital works, what it is, how to use it, and why it is so important for performance. And finally, define your poker goal. Hope that this can help you in some way.

What a beautiful story... 🤑

Thank you for the advice.

I always leave 10% of my earnings on the site, and I withdraw the rest and invest it in the bank where I have an account, that is, when the site doesn't deny my withdrawal by making up some nonsense.

But out of the six sites I play, I have money locked up, only on WPT Global, on the rest I only leave the 10% I mentioned above.

I think the primary goal of a beginner should be to create a bankroll of at least $100, and after that you can withdraw 50% of the profit and keep 50% to keep the bankroll growing.

If you get over 100 buyins for the next level up in buyin, then give it shot. If you are not comfortable playing higher then you might as well withdraw some funds.

This is an individual question and depends on the individual characteristics of each player. Beginners usually do not understand what bankroll management is, and therefore risk their entire bankroll on a bad day. Therefore, I believe that it is better for beginners to withdraw money and leave no more than $10-20 on their account, and thus learn to operate with such a small bankroll at first.
