I have only recently got into online poker and I haven't played high stakes yet. Honestly I find it hard to see the appeal sometimes because it feels almost entirely luck based. Trying to bluff seems impossible as most players seem to snap call from the start. One of the hardest parts for me is not being able to see anyone’s face while playing. In live poker, picking up on physical tells or reading someone’s reactions can give you a big edge, but online, it feels like flying blind.

If someone can explain to me the actual benefits playing online I would like to hear it.

Most (if not all) of today's live high stakes players have come from an online poker background. Many of the guys you'll see playing stuff like the Triton Series are still playing online poker tournaments as well.

Online poker is a great place to play - - super convenient and easily able to put in lots of volume.

It might be helpful for you to try watching some online poker players while they are Live streaming on Twitch. (hole cards are revealed with players typically on a 6 to 8 min. delay).

All the reasons Poker Orifice listed. Plus for me personally I'll add the following I can easily think of off the top of my head:
1) The competition. Online is just tougher then live.
2) Way more hands an hour even if one only single tables. I enjoy double tabling most the time.
3) MTT's 24/7...7 days a week, 365 days a year. My local casino can't offer that.
4) I don't have to put up with people/degenerates/drunks that are the majority of the live players at my local casino.
5) No drive thru traffic for 30-45mins one-way.
6) There's always that one player who hasn't showered in like 2+ months at every table.
7) A lot of live players are miserable and insurable looking people.
8) I can sit at home in my underwear and play if I choose. Sure the wife will be pissed but at least I won't get arrested :ROFLMAO:.

Cheers!!!

In my opinion, the real advantage of playing online is, first of all, the ability to play 4 or 6 tables at the same time. In addition, online play is quite convenient because you can play at home, in a comfortable environment and in safety. I agree with you about the luck, but nevertheless, I think you will agree with me that online poker is a pretty good entertainment :)

Online Poker is Good Practice for Live Cash Games.

If you have a good Win Rate at 25NL or up Online you are probably better at Poker Fundamentals and Theory than 99% of Live Players up to 5/10.

I find it more recreational than anything else. It is fun to play in home games with people I know.

Online poker offers unparalleled convenience, a wide range of games, and multi-table options, but does not provide the physical interactions and cues that live poker does.Playing online poker can be much cheaper than if you decide to play it in a traditional casino. This is one of the great benefits of the game, the ability to play without leaving your home.Beginners will find that playing online poker is less stressful. Online poker has a large community of users that welcomes players of all types. There is absolutely no pressure.

to play offline poker, you obviously need to go somewhere, and there is not always an opportunity... okay, the opportunity, the mood may not be banal, well, or the weather is bad, for example rain or snowfall, then there is no need to go anywhere.. and playing online is enough to turn on the computer and play, or even better, you can play from your phone lying on the bed... well, one more of the advantages, it can be played for example on the way to work or from work, the same cash or spin and go))

Yep live home games that are all just good long term buddies or just by invite only are and can be fun. My buddy and I have run a weekly home game with 6-12 players now for 15 some years. It's always been a good, fun and easy time. But then it's invite only, all are good people and the stakes within all our means.

Cheers!!!

I don't get to do that often enough. The step-kids still come around just enough sooner later I'd get caught in my underwear. And while they're great step-kids, young adults, we get along great and we love each other they won't enjoy seeing me in my underwear :ROFLMAO:.

Cheers!!!

When I started playing tournaments a little over two years ago I did online to practice my play and strategy for the live tourneys I was playing. I know that it has helped me improve, and given me a chance to stay in condition for live play. It is like dry firing and aiming firearms, which do help when there are live rounds in the gun.

I believe the Biggest benefit is that you can play Whenever you feel like it, Instead of having to wait for a Live game in a Casino or Pub/Club, You can play in the early hours of the morning or Late at night, there are tables open 24/7. Also you can play in your Birthday suit if that rocks your Boat, Dress as you want, nobody is going to see you or care how you dress.
It is a very cheap way to learn the basics and get the practice you need, before you step into the Live games and it is a Natural progression to play in bigger and bigger games, there is nothing worse than jumping in the deep end when you are learning to swim and finding yourself in trouble. Let's be Honest everyone starts off as a Little Fish to begin with, Playing on-line lets you grow a little, before you face off against the Sharks.
Play games on some sites for as little as 10 Cents a game, or buy-in for hundreds of Dollars, Even play for free if you don't have the buy-in, But I feel the biggest benefit of On-line Poker is that no one can play out of turn and make a fool of themselves, or Say stupid things you may object too unless they type it in the chat box, and if they do, it is so simple to block them and ignore the fools.

The advantage of playing poker online is that you can open several screens at the same time and work from home

A big benefit of online poker, is if you stay too long at the table and are very tired, you don't have to get in the car to head home and go to bed. You just shut off the computer or phone and put your head in the pillow. Pleasant dreams.

The main advantages that I observe are the convenience, you can play anywhere, a greater variety of sports and tournaments, you can play several games at the same time and the dynamics, as it is faster than live

Unconventional play, full stats on your rivals and your own strategy are very important in online poker. Yes, we can't see our opponents' emotions, but our rivals can't see our emotions either! Be unconventional, be aggressive at the right moments, and sometimes buy a flush or a straight for free against players who constantly call your raises. :sneaky:
