Hey everyone,

I've been reflecting on my journey from break-even player to consistent winner, and it got me thinking about those "eureka" moments that changed everything.

For me, it was when I started tracking my position-based performance and discovered I was hemorrhaging money from the blinds but was actually crushing from the cutoff—completely opposite of what I thought.

This single insight led me to completely revamp my positional strategy, and my ROI jumped about 20% within weeks.

What about you? What was that one strategic revelation or data point that transformed your game? Was it hand selection? Bet sizing? A specific tournament adjustment? Something discovered through tracking or coaching?

Curious what insights have made the biggest difference for others here.

Best revelation for me was learning best not to play poker at all :ROFLMAO:
More time to get real things needing done - done :coffee: Always win that way :geek:

Hello, I think something important was learning to bluff before it's too late. Detect when your opponent wants your all-in and not give it to them, the right amount of chips to bet at any given time and, as you say, to know from what position at the table to play and how.

That table selection and player selection is 95% of the game.

That's why I rarely play MTTs.

In poker, it's not so much how good you are after a certain level - it's more important that you find players who are really bad and make big mistakes.

The range I open raise from each position and how NOT to be totally rigid depending on my stack , my table image , the phase of the tournament and the lineup of my opponents.
Sometimes open raise literally any two is +EV.

Bro, in omaha rush and cash, more attention on position really make a evolution on my game. And in the regular omaha cash games, more focus to play with more recreative players. stopping some ego's wars with regs
