I would like to ask something that makes me very thoughtful, I want to start poker, do you recommend spins or cash?
If there are only two options in your view, then I would choose cash. But are you skilled enough to win them? Otherwise your opponents will eat you alive.

But why not tournament freerolls? The likes we have here:

If you are only just starting out with poker I would advise you to learn the game first.

Welcome to CC (y)

Good afternoon

I would like to ask something that makes me very thoughtful, I want to start poker, do you recommend spins or cash?

I was thinking of playing spins for a few months to generate bankroll but I don't know if it's a good decision
Perhaps it all depends primarily on your skills and experience, but in my opinion, cash games are more promising, since Spin & Go is essentially a lottery.

I wouldn't recommend any of them to start with. You would rather play on freerolls, getting to know as many situations as possible, to experience the different phases of the game.
If you sit down to play a cash game right away, the sharks will eat you anyway, and spin&go is more like a lottery, and you run out of money quickly.
If you don't want to start on freerolls, I would recommend MTTs with low (0,5-1$/€) entry.

In my opinion, the cache is more difficult, more material is required for assimilation, which seems logical. Spins, , more on reflexes. There are bots and prompters in the backs. Perhaps only stars are fighting this. On VPN, bots rule the roost without any hesitation.

If you are just starting poker, learn & practice with play money to assess yourself against the game. Freerolls are bankroll builders as you ITM. S&G depletes your bank slowly & cash games could quickly deplete your bank. Do not expect to build the bank if you cannot maintain a good win rate. Spend what u can afford to loose.

Good afternoon! 🙂
Usually play them both in the same time to be more fun...

I love cash games and spins too, but if you want to be profitable more between these to option play cash games! 😉

Another vote for NOT going the SPINS route.

If you never played a single hand of online Holdem yet for real money I'll echo @dzsire advice above. CardChat freerolls are a great way to gain some experience for free. Take advantage of that free experience while you keep studying to improve.

Micro MTT's isn't a bad option either but $50 doesn't go far even play $1 MTT's and the variance is worse then playing cash. If you're ok likely spending or losing $50usd. I'd personally start at playing full-ring 2nl cash tables. In my experience the online competition doesn't get any softer then that in 2024. Micro MTT's isn't a bad option either but $50 doesn't go far playing micro MTT's because the variance is terrible. Cash variance is better.

Best of luck.

Cheers!!!

No, I wouldn’t recommend those—they’re very luck-based. Tournaments offer much better odds for making money.

Spins are the crack cocaine of poker.

And the edges are very, very small since it's a combination of short-stack poker and a lottery.

Learn deep stack cash if you want to win long-term at poker.

in spins, as for me, the dispersion is higher and the bankroll is needed more and it doesn’t matter where to play, in the cache you need to select a lot and look for weak players

I would advise you to start with free tournaments, they are held in large quantities at 888poker and ACR, replenish your bankroll and skill, and then at your discretion.

The best answer to this question in my opinion is play what you enjoy.

If you want to get good at the game you're going to have to end up spending lots of long hours both playing and studying your chosen game type, it's best to enjoy the game type you're going to be playing. Once you've gained some of the fundaments if you're not enjoying the game type you've chosen anymore you can take what you've learned theory wise and a portion of it will apply to different game types and you might end up enjoying a different game type more in the future but choosing a game type just because you want to build a bankroll often leads to burn out if you don't enjoy the game.

As said by a few people above Cardschat has some freerolls you're able to play once you reach certain activity thresholds in the community, these are very good places to make some money while working on your chosen game type. (You could even ear mark all the money you win in CC games for poker educational content, you can kind of think of it as an investment with a potential infinite upside)

I would not choose spins for the start because there is a huge variance

I would choose cash game, because spins game have more luck involved than cash games.

Cash, spin will be X2 most of the time, that said your chances of winning is too low, 3 players and only X2 is lost money.

When I started playing poker, I took a cash game. More precisely, there was no such game as Spin&Go 16 years ago. But cash is better for understanding poker, for learning. Of course, you can always play freerolls (which is what most beginners do), but if you choose a game with an investment, I recommend cash.

Egyiket sem ajánlom kezdésnek. Inkább freerollokon játszol, minél több helyzetet megismerve, átélve a játék különböző fázisait.
What you wrote is very true. To begin with, you have to gain a lot of experience
