Hey forum,
This thread should be for all those special cases where variance teaches us a hard lesson or those sunshine runs where everything goes your way. 🌞
I thought about such a thread with a situation that occurred to me yesterday:
I was playing a small tournament yesterday and we're a handful of playing until ITM.
We're short stack and need to make a move soon.
Few hands later, we're in CO with 11 BBs now and get . So we got for it and jam. Big stack BB calls and reveals .
FML!
Flop brings a Q, so there's a bit of hope, turn is a J 🤩, rivers a blank.
Thank you, Miss Variance! So now, we're in her debt and let's see when she comes to collect it...
So now our stack should be good to go until ITM.
We're short of decent hands, so we just observe. The shorter stacks keep busting until two left to ITM. So we decide to see what's up and the shortest stack with 6 BBs is a sitout. 😴
We're not that deep to survive everyone folding until he busts, so we decide to wait for a hand to make another move to stack up.
Few rounds later, we are in SB with 14 BBs and get . Villian from previous hand has opened already and we decide not to play any games and 3-bet jam it into him. Villian calls with . We should be good to go!
Flop is one blank card, Q and J. Turn is the 4th A. River is a T. 😵 So out we go. 🤣
FFS, miss Variance! 😅
The good news is that we're in hand for hand and sitout shortie is now forced auto-allin and we have him covered, so if he busts, we're still ITM. (the site doesn't auto force them to fold, so the hand still plays).
Good thing: Sitout gets 72o. Worst hand he can have. Better thing: villian has TT.
Flop has a 2. Turn is another 2. 😳
River a blank.
So we bust as bubble boy with AA against the same guy that we cracked his AA earlier. 🤣
