Poker with VPN

Hi guys,

I heard a lot of people from the poker community that they are playing with VPN ?

Maybe someone who are playing with VPN can explain the benefits (obviously i can think about poker sites that are not allowed in your country but thats a little bit off law)

Using a VPN is a countermeasure against man in the middle attacks. All data is capsuled between your side of the communication channel and the exit host of the tunnel.
Normally it is used for secure communication for out of house workers, that have to communicate with servers of their company to get their work done.
One other reason for VPN is to mask your geolocation, but that is for the most pokerrooms against their TOS and can lead to immediate block of your account with losing all funds.

Dont do it. Yes there are people who use is to play where they should not play but once caught you will lose everything including your account.

@Luvepoker i'm not going to, even if there are some sites where you can play with a vpn (the site allows it) it would be pretty tricky with the law regulations from your country @Goggelheimer ty as well for your info

Ever since i got VPN to my computer (for poker purposes) i also saw that local (online) newspapers etc are losing their mind since i seem to use some kind of ad-blocker so i should imagine this vpn thing isnt that bad after all

I used a VPN for Months. Particularly on PS. But. When I just played chips, no real money. I played like that without notice about the restrictions using VPN. Nothing happened. Now I only play real money and do not even try play with VPN. PS is very clear that it is prohibited.

That's great for you I guess that you haven't been caught by the sites, but you absolutely can lose your account and any funds you have accrued. I've seen it happen to people more than once.

Bottom line is, it is against the TOCs of most, if not all poker sites to use a VPN while playing. And if you are caught out, they also have full right to confiscate everything in your account, particularly if you are using it to circumvent governmental and geographical regulations and restrictions. So before you go around throwing out "cheater" accusations, you should probably educate yourself a little more on the matter.

I think you should first find out if the poker room allows you to play with VPN, so that there would be no problems after using it. And in general I don't see any advantages in using VPN.

You better not use VPN in online poker, find places that accept your country. You don't need to play everywhere. Im from Greece and i cant play in 80% of poker sites

If countries and states/provinces are determined to pass restrictive gambling laws and poker rooms feel they have to go along with it then the people in these places have to step in and do what they can just to make money at the game they have spent countless hours studying and perfecting. I am lucky that I live somewhere that I haven't had to use a VPN but this could change in the future as more and more governments get greedy and stupid every day. I applaud all those using VPNs to circumvent restrictive gambling laws!

You should try. Use a VPN and login the rooms you play. Later you can tell us what happen and demostrate your point.

I recently was connected to a VPN and I tried to log-in without noticing on ClubGG. What it happens was, simply the App sent an error and doesn't let me connect with my user. I think it's just that simple.
