What number of hands do you think is optimal? 1000? 2000? 5000?

Usually it depends on the stack, if short I try to play only the top ones. If the average, then I take a larger range, and if luck is on my side, then it happens that even the weakest hands I play.

What a great question. I have recently found setting a timer and every 30 minutes I walk away from the game after sitting out next BB.

2 reasons. I have never had a profitable session play more than 1500 hands straight. Fun stat about me. You can make 100 good decisions and if you lose focus on one big one and lose it can crush every single one of the good ones.

So for me it is every half hour break, typical session is at most 2000 hands. At that point I have a beautiful lady and cat to get back to.

For me it might be like 1000 hands good time to check how I feel how I'm doing with my back and my fun, cause if I feel bored I start to get sleepy at that point I Know I'm done or i will loose money because of my bad decisions cause I want to rest :) ... So it depends everytime on the type of person and tastes play what's optimal for your body :D

In different ways, when I play 1000 hands, and when 500 hands, you will ask why so few)), it's because I play one table.
I tried to play 4 tables many times, but I don't have enough patience, I play carefully for two hours, and then I start playing like the very last fish.

Less than 100 ... folded hands not included. I could play way more, but then it's not fun anymore.

it depends a lot on the structure of the tournament, if it's a very long tournament and if it's a deep regular with blinds from 12 to 15 minutes it goes from 2k to 5k that's if you make it to the final table!

Depends on the day. I always try to play at least 2000 hands a day, but I can't always achieve that. If I'm having a nice day I can get myself 3k easily, but by HM my average is between 1300/1500 hands per day.

I don't really play for a set number of hands.

Mainly play:

  • During tournament breaks to fill in the time.
  • To satisfy promotion requirements.
  • For a specified time period.

that depends on the tournaments sometimes if I don't get eliminated before each tournament can give you around 150 hands before the final table personally I think 2000 would be a suitable number to have favorable experience in poker :D

For me it is not directly dependent on the number of hands but on the ability to concentrate. If I'm willing to mentally torture myself and play my A game, it's not a problem. However, this ability decreases over time depending on my personal state of mind.

Therefore, I try to set myself a certain realistic target time before the session, which I ideally stick to. Of course, I don't always succeed, because other influencing factors are at work, but for me it's better than grinding without a time target.

Online I play about 300-500 hands in a 6-hour tournament session and live 100-200.

Cheers!

Usually i dont count the hands i've played but i always try to play near 20% all hands dealt. I think that if you play much more than this you're really doing mistakes.

It depends on the success of the game. If everything works out, then I think I play 100 - 150 hands.

I play sessions averaging 1000 hands, then I take a break. If I have the strength and mood, then after the rest I play one or two more sessions of 1000 hands.
But I try to play at least 1000 hands a day in total.

I do 25 minutes on and 5 minute break (roughly). I will try to monitor how I am feeling and will do as many 25 minute stints as I feel like or can.
