So I was discussing this with somebody the other day and I seem to have a completely different interpretation of what's being represented by the metric of hands per hour.

So I would like to ask all you out there when you see hands per hour and it states 88 hands per hour at a 9-player table how many hands an hour do you see, or are dealt, really per hour?

I realize that is somewhat vague and it is intended to be I want to see how people respond to this question as is and will elaborate further down the line.

Nice topic man, usually i dont care to much how many hands there are give in one hour, im more interested how many times you see the flop when you play 100 hands for example.
But i think 88 hands per hour is a good average number, which means the table is not slow i think.

It is the number of hands being dealt per hour.

I dont pay too much attention to that stat as it depends how many players have been at the table. Its going to 70-80 per hour usually at a 9max table

I never found myself analyzing this, I think this factor is unnecessary from my point of view.
Online we play more hands compared to live and that is very good, when we play several tournaments at the same time we have a vast library of hands that should be played in a more EV+ way.
I recommend that you spend time analyzing your game and points that will really make a difference in your game, such as studies, field analysis, player information.
But it's interesting but unnecessary, not in my opinion.

quality and low quality cards

yes, you can also watch for hours, but I'm interested in all kinds of tournaments and how long you wait for favorable, good, strong cards to double with your chips
