I never realized how dependent that a lot of have become on HUDs and other tools in our games. I know I am guilty of not taking quite the extensive notes that I once did since I started using PT4. But, last night I was playing on my laptop and couldn't get PT4 to run, so there I was, already stuck in a tournament with no HUD. I final tabled it! I didn't think about it until the next day because (humble brag) I do make a lot of deep runs in tournaments and am not an infrequent flyer to final tables. But I was thinking about it today and I realized how long it had been since I just sat and played online poker using my reads and taking notes and actually observing my opponents and then using their weaknesses to exploit them. I also thought about how long it had been since I just sat and played ONE table of poker instead of 3 or 4 at a time. I rather enjoyed it(even though if you read my other posts, I continue to lose flip after flip...have lost 6 in a row so far tonight...also still not using the HUD). So, I decided that I am just going to focus on playing solide fundamental poker, go back to taking good notes and observing my opponents instead of getting the info from the HUD and see where it takes me.

HUD gives an advantage but it is not enough to make the best decision.

Losing 5 or 6 successive flips is normal. When a professional poker player loses several tournaments it's not because he didn't play well but simply because he had a down swing due to variance.

Really, when you use the hud a lot you end up playing just because of the reading you're getting from the hud, I think that in the end it's not so good. It's been about 3 months since I stopped using the hud because it's bothering me instead of helping

Laziness is mother of HUD :). Or it thing just came up for people who play a lot of tables simanteniusly and make decisions based on this information.

Don't know for sure it's bad or not?

HUD user.

HUD's are just another tool. I never rely on mine 100%. As only a rec/hobby player I use my HUD to help double table, tag player types, , track winnings/loses and for studying/hand reviews. There really isn't a better and faster way to study and do hand reviews that I know of. When it comes to sitting at the and making decisions in real time based solely on the HUD info that's a no go for me. I overrule the HUD all the time. I play more by what 20+ year experience, feel and gut instincts tell me.

HUD's are kinda like advanced stats in hockey or any sport vs the watch the game crowd. Advanced stats are just another tool to help teams improve along with watching/scouting the games to help make adjustments in their team. No different than what a HUD should be used for in poker. Just another tool to help make adjustments in one's game and improve it.

Cheers!!!

HUD should be prohibited in my opinion.
