Hello,
I am an American traveling aboard going to the Philippines.
My question is can I still play online poker for USD “betting and winnings” or will I have to play in the money that country uses ?

I'm from Ukraine, and despite that I've always used US dollars as my main account currency. I think you can continue to use US dollars. A lot depends on the withdrawal method you choose.

Many online poker sites accept players based in the Philippines. You will just need to provide proof of residence by renting a house or apartment and presenting e.g. an electricity bill in your name as well as your passport. Methods of deposits and withdrawals will be different from site to site, but US based credit cards or bank accounts are presumably a no-go on any site due to US legislation. So you will likely need to set up a local bank account, an e-Vallet or a crypto vallet and then use that to get money in and out of sites.
