10% is too much for sure, because nowadays it's not easy to be a profitable player even without rake, imagine with 10% of rake. But of course poker rooms have costs and also needs to win money, so, there isn't much we can do about this.

I think 5% would be good for both sides

when we pay 100K we give 10000 free +we give someone a big profit
Everything is relative. For some it is acceptable, for others it is too much. But in general, if the game brings you profit, then I think there should be no problem :)

yes I agree it's too high! Would be much better if they lowered it to 5%

No one in these forums has anyway of knowing or answering this question using any real knowledge. As no one here is an accountant or knows anything about any poker sites finances.

Of course we all want lower rake. However I'd rather have a secure site, a site I can trust and the latest in security. If that cost 10% rake then that's what it costs. At the end of the day I'll simply be smart enough to adjust my play and bet sizes to make enough money to pay the rake. When I can't make enough money by doing that time to quit or find a new place to play.

A lot of peoples favorite player and a player they look up too says "more rake is better" 🤡:ROFLMAO:.

Cheers!!!

It seems like a lot to me, I expect a reduction from them, but this is how it works.

To be honest, I never paid attention to all these conditions and ‘wishes’, and I never had any problems with withdrawals or any other issues. I just play freerolls, build up my bankroll and then play tournaments with buy-ins, so I don't actually spend a single cent on the game out of my own pocket.

Sports gambling on football is the same rake. How do you think these multi million hotels get made . Most football games are set at -110. So we know what the cost is upfront, no one is making us play. If you never want to lose, you never have to play.

I like to play the Sunday Million, for example, and it's even a little under 10%, around 8%. rake

but sometimes there are games even with 15% rake

I think it's a lot but it's the site choice, if you don't wanna play, don't play. Every now and then some new one opens with lower rake, usually they close cause no players.

I think 10% rake is very little but if you think it's a lot that's fine, but for how much you spend getting only 10% back in my opinion it's little

Rake is the house percentage. If you sit at the table long enough, it will win everything.

Maintaining a poker site is not cheap. I understand that 10% is a fair value. Furthermore, almost all rooms work with some Rakeback system and offer freerolls. Where do you think the money for this comes from? Furthermore, the racket is set before we sit at the table, so it is our choice whether to pay him to play or not.
In my opinion, we should be more concerned about the security and honesty of the website.

Competition drives take. With limited options, operators can charge a higher rake. The more options the consumer has, the lower the take will be. Or, if consumers quit the site, the rake will drop.

Its too much. The higher the rake, the higher the win rate that is required to be profitable.

The math behind it is simple... there is no difference for the server, for the actual computer that processes data when it hosts 1.1$ tourney vs $109 tourney = in both cases it will consume several dollars of electricity and several dollars of traffic. It will be profitable for online poker site even if the rake is static, like 10-20cent for any tourney. But since rake is 5-12% no wonder why we see so many new poker sites
