I prefer AK because QQ has very few opportunities to improve beyond a pair, especially now that one of the Qs is accounted for.
AKs can hit either an A or a K to have QQ absolutely dominated, plus it has more flush and straight possibilities (although straights more unlikely considering 3 Qs are accounted for in this spot, AKs is a premium hand for a reason lol, it's only completely dominated by AA, and KK is well ahead of it, and it dominates any non-pocket pair especially Ax and Kx hands, and is flipping with any pocket pairs 22+.

Well its is obvious. I have been in that situation many times. It seems for me that my AK never seems to arrive. Having the QQ preflop is the way to go because you already made your set and your opponent has to hope for an A or K. I see the odds being in the favor of the QQ. Good luck

I prefer QQ, I have much better luck with them than with AK.

QQ vs AK is a coin flip preflop, bo so is 22 vs AK... Overall I'll always take a high pair over AK as it's already a made pair. AK still needs to hit the board.

Prepare - wall of equity!

Against any two cards AK has 65% equity where QQ has 79% equity.
Against a 20% best of range AK has 62% equity where QQ has 70% equity
Against a 10% best of range AK has 58% equity where QQ has 65% equity.
Against a 5% best of range AK has 46,5% equity where QQ has 58%.
Against a 2% best of range AK has 36% equity where QQ has 42% equity.
Against each other AK has 43% equity where QQ has 57% equity.

Considering those numbers, the knowledge that QQ has SIGNIFICANT higher winrates than AK in all formats/stages and non the least the fact that im a gentleman:
I stick with the LADIES.

Flippy Flipperton. Well... I suppose if the AK is suited, I'll play that. Are we talking 6-max or full ring? The lack of variance in the 6-max may sway my decision a bit as well. Might have to pull a Polk and flip for it, lol.

These are the cards that are always played, but you also need to fold sometimes.

Talking about an all-in pre-flop situation, AK has something close to 75% of equity against most part of the hands, but against pocket pairs up to QQ, AK has 45% (which is really good, anyway). If we are with an AK against KK or AA, the equity drops a lot, specially against AA.

So answering your question:

In all-in pre-flop QQ is better (but not too much)...

No matter how premium AK is, it is still speculative, the issue with QQ is knowing how to play it post flop, personally QQ has made me lose many big pots, but it is a matter of proper discipline

Against most part of the hands AK has NOT 75% equity.

if you play all-in then QQ will be slightly stronger than AK, but if you play all 3 streets then AK looks stronger. I think you need to watch how you play and what blinds you have, and QQ is always preferable to AK because it has a slightly higher winning percentage, which is logical

Yeah, you're right!

AK has ~73% of equity in an all-in pre-flop situation, but only against some hands that the villain probably would pay an all-in pre-flop, like AQ, KQ or weaker hands with A or K (AJ and KJ, for example).

My bad and thanks for your correction!

In principle, I really like pocket pairs, so I will choose QQ.

I prefer 88 to both 😅😂. QQ will always attract someone with 33 to play even if I pot bet pre and they will catch a 3 - AK either they will have AK or I’ll completely miss and their A9 will hit a flush or their rag will hit - normally quads lol.

I joke. I’ve never liked AK tbh. I know I should. Suited I prefer a bit better but I seem to have more luck with K 10 than AK. Maybe because I expect too much from it 🤔

In my opinion the AK or QQ is equivalent to both one and the other, it's strong to have the same value!
