Two heroic folds here - first kings then queens:

Would you have fold kings pre-flop, even with a $10,000.00 buy-in?

The Kings and the Queens are excellent hands and I wouldn't fold either one. In fact I proved it the other day when I had QQ, went all in, and was confronted with those other two hands. LOL!! (I lost. :) )

You can sometimes sit for hours and not get any good starting hands...getting QQ or KK is so rare and a premium hand, I doubt if I would have the ability to fold...may not see great cards like that again and get blinded out of the tournament, so I would probably go down with the ship.

Great folds! There are 3 hands that I don't think I could ever fold pre-flop. AA, KK, and AKs. I've folded QQ pre, and opp showed KK. I did this in a wsop Satellite, because the same person KO'd me when I had QQ and they had AA. I bought back in they tried the same thing. They were a very good player, and I knew I was beat, and folded QQ pre (we both ended up winning a seat to a WSOPC event).

As played with those positions, I see how they were able to fold. I think if it hadn't been break time, Eichele may have gone all-in. But that break would allow him to gather his thoughts on the hand. I dunno, maybe he still would have folded. Her hand did look a lot like AA.

I do think that if Eichele and Hutter's positions were switched, we would have seen QQ all-in.

In no case should you give up with such pocket cards.

I could only fold KK if I saw 3 other people already all in on the hand. I would assume all 3 had pocket pairs, so a 3/13 chance someone would have 3 of a kind on the flop. After that odds would get worse on the turn with a possible straight, then totally whack with a duplicate card hitting to make a flush or full house to knock out my Cowboys.

Folding big hands is always tough. JJ would be a much easier fold in those situations.

Two things that never make TV - calling with KK or QQ to find out those other guys had weaker hands / were bluffing, or folding KK or QQ to find out those other guys had weaker hands / were bluffing. Yes, heroic folds happen, but I bet folding KK or QQ (and making a mistake by doing so) happens often enough too.

No, I couldn't give up. Although there are many hands that beat me, there are also many others that I beat.

It's normal not to give up, lately I've been losing straight to AA, KK, QQ, JJ

It would be important to see what stage of the tournament they were in. I don't think it's common for them to fold hands like QQ or KK.
