About the only option you have is to travel outside the city. You only have one casino inside New York City which is Resorts World Casino. The only variation of poker they provide is 3-card poker and video poker.
There is the Turning Stone Casino in Verona that has poker. It's about a 4 and half hour drive. Not sure if that is what you are looking for.
Of course, as with any State that does not provide viable poker rooms, there is also the underground scene which I am sure holds true in NYC. Not recommending that for you.

Late reply, but for the future...
Social Poker NYC, find the club on Facebook, google etc.
What you do is you text the number,
you complete the verification process which is quick and painless (they just view your page). Then you’ll be given the time and address of poker games all over NYC.
To save you the trip here’s the info...
“All it takes to get a seat is registering with Social Poker NYC. Text “SPBLOG” to (347) 471-1813 with full name, email & occupation.”
It sounds sketchy but it’s really just a true poker community. Maybe if it was legal we could be normal but whatever.
