I often hear about getting a table change if you ask for one. I know this is allowable, but how exactly does the concept of table changing work? Do you just ask the floor any time and then move to a new table when they tell you where you go? Or does there have to be a reason to move?

Table changes are usually for cash games. I dont know of any tournaments that allow requested table changes. All you have to do is ask for one and they usually put you in the queue and when your name hits the top and there is a seat open they move you. Or sometimes they give you the next seat available and give your seat to the top of the queue person. If you request a specific table you just have to wait for an open seat at that table. You really dont have to provide a reason

Yeah, I figured it's pretty much a cash game thing. So it doesn't matter the reason, I can ask for a table change for any reason or no reason at all? Does this apply for must move tables as well?

You can ask the dealer for a Table Change button in most casinos. Then they will contact the floor and see if there are any that have requested before you. If not you are First to Table Change Before someone new comes in or if someone wants to hop up.

You will not have little luck changing off a "must-move" game as that game is intended to "feed" the main game with players/chips....

Good reason to ask for a table change:
+Dont like the people you are playing with (not fun/profitable)

Bad reason:
+Im not gerting lucky/cards

Most of the time I find it not worth your while to change...but a good thought to keep in mind...if I'm the 6th beat player in the world, should i really play a game with 1-5..assuming i have the choice...

I know at foxwoods you just ask the dealer and he throws you a table change button and informs the floor man. When an empty seat comes up the floor man will come and let you know. And you don't need any reason to ask for a table change
