I'll be travelling to canada this month for the first time. From what I've heard, in Ontario, poker is regulated. But is it only there? I'm coming to Vancouver, I'd like to know if there is a place where I could play there since they are really far from each other.

I would like to visit Canada, and especially take that eleven day and ten night train trip between Vancouver and Toronto, which would be really cool, but it is beyond my possibilities, who knows, in another incarnation.😁

I honestly don't think you're missing much. Some of it is picturesque, but for much of the trip the view is blocked by trees, lots and lots of trees, close up and personal.

I think it would still be worth it, when you have a lot of money, which is not my case, 😁certain things are not relevant.

I would like to know Canada from end to end, I think it is a very beautiful country.🙂

You should be able to play most if not all poker sites but if you have existing accounts you better inform them of your move.
Right, but I mean like, live poker you know?
Online I know that it shouldn't be a problem...

You were misunderstood, because you used the term "regulated", which is typically only used for online gambling (poker), not for psysical casinos. I dont have info about casinos in Canada.

Nah bro, believe me. I've been through some of the worst years of my life. Lost my parents, I have no one else in my family, and I felt lost (completely). But with a TON of work and refusing to believe that this would be my future. A job came up, by a girl that I met at a party, and for the past year, everything is changing in my life! I'll be travelling to Canada to work. Something that was off the charts by the end of 2022.

Keep it up little bro, but make it count. Go after it! :)

Riiight, mb!
I thought, if a city isn't regulated. Live casinos of poker wouldn't be possible.

In fact its often owners of psysical casinos, that argue against legal (regulated) online gambling, because they see it as competition to their own business. So the two things are really not connected at all. For instance there is no legal online gambling in the state of Nevada, but there are lots of psysical casinos in its main city Las Vegas.

There are legal live casinos throughout Canada (in every province). Unfortunately poker is a bit limited in some parts due to lack of interest (& more money can be made for the floor space).
Unfortunately your best bet is over in the next province, Alberta where poker is thriving still. They are actually holding 3 separate WSOP circuit series this year in Calgary (Calgary is a 1hr.22min. flight, close to an 11hr. drive (could be longer depending upon weather in Mountain passes)).

Vancouver used to hold the BC Poker Championships at the RiverRock Casino and it was a big deal ~15years ago (Daniel Negreanu won the main event there one year) & poker was booming. These days I don't even think they run any tournament series there.

PokerAtlas website will help you out.

For online you can play on every site you can think of 'but' you'd need to have a bank account (in Canada) and an address with bills showing you reside there. (there are still quite a few online poker players from the USA who are living in Vancouver... even though it is a VERY expensive city to live in).

There's reviews you can read about each casino and I'm sure if you were to make your question more specific on the forum you will find some CC members who live in Vancouver or who have played there. (I've played there but it was MANY years ago).

It is actually 4 nights, 4 days - - 'The CANADIAN' (VIA Rail) Toronto - to - Vancouver. I have heard it is amazing!

I've never taken this trip by rail but I have driven across Canada a couple of times (Toronto to Vancouver). It is a 50hr. drive. On one occasion I did this with only 1 stop for sleep. The first part of the trip I drove for 40hrs. before stopping. (now I have a difficult time driving more than 2hrs.)

A TV station here in brazil broadcast a special program a few days ago about this train trip from Canada, I thought all the landscapes along the way were spectacular, everything was very beautiful.

I was imagining what it would be like to take a trip like that as a train driver, it would be amazing. In my days on the railway, I made the trip to Serra do Mar here in the city where I live, at least once a week, with the tourist train, I wasn't the driver, but I had to stay on the locomotive to keep an eye on the computer. board, in the event of this problem, each trip was unforgettable.

I used to drive a Tour Bus throughout the Rocky Mountains in Alberta & B.C. Canada. Many trips. Also gave guided tours.
Now I live in the interior of B.C. beside a big river in the mountains. I feel fortunate for sure.
