Curious does anyone really catch cheaters in live poker?

Most people wouldn't bother trying to cheat in the first place. Cameras are everywhere, dealers are trained to detect cheaters..

But sure it happens.

This does happen.

If you suspect somebody is cheating at a live poker table I recommend to speak to the floor management away from the table.

Tell them the seats that you suspect are participating and exactly what you think is going on.

The management will watch those players and and if necessary use video from cameras.

If the floor observes that your suspicions are correct then the room will ban them for life or even arrest them.

I have seen a couple cheaters caught live. One was using a "spotter" to look at opponents cards and the other one brought chips to the table.

humans always find a way to make easy money, but yeah nowadays cheating is more complicated, but in other hands you want be killed if some one suspect you are cheating

I suspect private live poker, usually high stakes cash games, to have cheaters more often than in a public casinos with cameras and security personnel who monitor players. But of course, some people will always find new ways to cheat no matter how impossible it could be. 😅

I think that any fraudulent schemes or possible conspiracies should and will be monitored. This is a necessity because otherwise, live gaming will gradually degrade and lose popularity.

The thing is that in poker there is money and where there is money there is also the possibility of fraud.

Catching a cheater can be fun in a friendly game. When you know your friends and keep an eye on them.

I've sat down at a table where I was the only outsider...the other players were regulars (and friends) addressing each other by first name and talking about family and mutual friends. I did not spot anything overt, but I got the sense that they were all playing against me...when I was in a hand, there was always at least one raise, and they took turns. I did not stay long, walking away with about half my stack.
