What is your Fast-Fold Strategy? ALL SITES

I play specifically on ACR (it is called Blitz there); I am recently very interested in this game as I've only started putting volume on it this year (I know it's been around for awhile)

I'd like to share stats and strategies. For my personal style, a standard TAG style works, but with exaggerated aggressiveness in later positions PREFLOP-- meaning, you can abuse the button and none of your opponents will know you are doing so since you get a new table of players each hand.

Currently, I'm opening the button at 54% (see 'raise first' column, stands for RFI raise first in)-- I think that raising the button 100% of the time with 2bb can be profitable, I'm going to try this for a bit and see how it goes.

My Small Blind play is sub-optimal, though too early to tell bc I've had a couple -100bb coolers from that position, one with AA really sticks to my memory.

For fast-fold specialists, what is your SB strategy?

Just a heads up for anyone thinking about dipping their toes in the fast-fold poker world. I am slightly losing after almost 10k hands, trying to figure this shit out.

Sounds pretty similar to what you see on other sites. And the main reason why I am not a big fan of fast fold games

I personally gave up fast fold poker after around 25k hands at 10NL and 16NL Zoom on pokerstars. At that time I was winning solidly at 16NL full ring normal tables, but I ended up losing close to 300$ in the Zoom games. Which by the way was pretty much just the rake, that I paid to PokerStars.

At first I got stubborn and wanted to prove to myself, that I could beat these Zoom games. But after a while I came to my senses and realised, that this meant nothing, and that it made more sense to follow the path of least resistance. I guess, you can say, Zoom poker was a learning experience for me. But I learned more from spending 99$ on a 1 year subscription for PokerSnowie, that I learned from paying 300$ in rake to PokerStars for those 25k Zoom hands.

I think playing a mostly limping small blind strategy is still best in fast fold, although raising a higher percent could do better for the same reason of players over-folding. I’m going to play around with this idea but for now am still mainly limping like normal.

I'm actually creating a custom stat in PokerTracker4 (currently having PT4 staff help me put it together bc I know what I want just can't figure it out) called "Open raise success %" -- which is how often your open raises make everyone else fold and you win -- surprising this is not already a stat, since they have 1)flop cbet success % 2)turn ... 3)river cbet success% already.

After I get this stat working i'll post the syntax here in this thread. Pretty much if this OR% (what I call it now, short for "open raise success%) is greater than > pot odds for the bet t then we can know the BTN min-raise is overall a success or not.

By my current rough (slightly incorrect) calculation, my BTN OR% is at 30%. So I bet 2 to win 1.5 -- but it is successful only 30% of the time, far less than the 57% (2/3.5) required to be a 100% successful strategy.

I am calculating the stat incorrectly so will update after PT4 gets back to me.

good news is that now you have the cyclones and you can play those for 25 cents or 1.65 or 6.60 etc.. and these are fast fold poker....days your on fire i suggest you play higher limits and days you are struggling maybe just play the low games for that time frame etc...

anyway gl to you i like the cyclones myself as long as only playing one or 2 other games so can fold move fast etc...

Oh yea I think the Cyclones are going to be a big hit once more people start finding out about them. It really reminds me of final table play, which is my weakest (since it happens so rarely lol), and so I love getting the practice.

ACR overall is definitely NOT soft on cash games.

I am not completely surpriced to hear that. ACR is one of 3 major sites, that allow the use of HUDs, and it is also open (as far as I know) to players from Eastern Europe and South America. The other two sites with these caracteristics are PokerStars and 888 Poker, and these are also pretty reg infested in the micros. This is basically because, in those regions you can make a living or at least a decent side hustle from playing micro stakes poker professionally or semi professionally.

Personally I have also come to the conclusion, that online cash games in general are a little bit of a rake trap. My hourly net winrate seem to be fairly similar in cash games and tournaments, but I pay way more rake, when I play cash games. So in tournaments I actually get to keep a large portion of my net winnings, while in cash games I am mostly making the poker site rich. At least ACR seem to have a decent rake-back program, which might help a little bit.

1.) 3bet effectively IP and vs wide opening positions (BU and CO).
2.) Raise larger if you are on BU and CO to reduce 3bets,
3.) triple barrel bluff boards where opponent has capped ranges.
4.) Checkraise cbets regularly on dry boards OOP.
5.) Overbet the turn with your strong draws
6.) OOP skip the cbet on overly dry boards followed by raising your opponents steal attempt as he cbets for you!
7.) Be aware of 3bets when opening from early position

A few options.

And being more specific for the SB...

1.) Polarise your range from the SB either 3betting 4.5x or folding
2.) Check-raise most boards

I lost at fast fold for nearly 8 months. Not a lot of money, but I nearly gave it up because I wasn't actually winning and thought I was wasting my time. I had good sessions and bad sessions but in 100K hands I was down about $20. Of course, I made up for the loss from my tournament winnings but I could not figure out why tournaments went great but fast-fold was wrong. It turns out, most players in fast-fold play for the leaderboards' cashback and play a lot of hours, some I've seen them playing for 24hrs. But I seem to have turned my luck around and now I'm going positive. Guess I've improved. Couldn't tell you how. You got to find a balance between what you play. Tight didn't work for me and loose didn't work either. Aggressive didn't work, but also passive didn't work. I now just pay attention to every player and every table and try to make the best decisions in every hand. Whether I play tight or loosen up or play some hands passive and some aggressive, but it seems to work and now I frequently get donations rather than donate myself unwillingly.
